I always thought the absurd reasons vaccine pushers use to avoid debate (here it's holocaust denialism) exist because they know their position is indefensible. Hotez taught me it's because they are so used to being coddled by interviewers they can't even debate a neutral party.

Simple question. Who has more power & influence? The “antivax lobby”, comprised of concerned citizens and scientists asking questions & posting tweets and YouTube videos? or The “pro-vax lobby”, ie big pharma and Wall Street, who managed to get an entire planet injected?

In a nutshell, Hoetez believes that it’s not “legitimate” to hold “anti-vax views” and therefore no public debate should be had as it would “legitimise” “anti-vax views” ie he doesn’t believe in true freedom of speech. Coward.

For the record it’s not the 19 books ahead of his on Amazon that have made me anti vx. It was the time a doctor gave my 2 yr old a flu shot and it almost killed him. Flu shots cause thrombocytopenia in some people and nobody told me that, found out on the package insert later

In the pyramid of debate, the highest form of debate is to directly engage the other person’s central point. This is how I engage things like “trans women are women” or “preferred pronouns are polite.” I engage with and logically dismantle the arguments being presented. In contrast, the opposition mostly refuses to engage with my central points and instead drops to the lowest forms of debate which are ad hominem and personal attack. This underscores the weakness of their position. If they had arguments, they would use them. But when all they can do is call me a bigot or a transphobe, I don’t take it personally because I know it means my premise is beyond attack.
