Who ever signed off on this idea at MD helicopters should be written into the aviation hall of fame! Helicopter racing?! Yeah, forget the cars… I want to see egg beaters duking it out. I’m never going to watch a car race again and start a petition for helicopter racing.

I don’t understand the critics of this film, they don’t understand the human psyche in such an event. You’re talking about 30 minutes or less to come up with a decision. I like the breakdown of this film and the focus on each aspect of the decision making process. You’d panic if you were the President, a bomber crew, or turning the key on a ICBM or SLBM… I would. This is more scary than having sex for the first time. Look what happened on 9/11, utter chaos and nukes weren’t even involved. What do you want, medium rare, medium, or well done? Your life is over as you know it and that’s why the SecDef jumped off the roof. I liked the ending of the film because such a situation is unfathomable. If you want to see death and destruction, there are plenty of films to show you this.

There is a long checklist of items to go through before you get to hit the starter, so this clip is just the fun part. The engines are labeled engine #1 (left) and engine #2 (right). The first engine is started off the 24volt battery of the aircraft and the starter is released one the compressor reaches 55%. Once the first engine is up and running with the generator turned on, it makes the second engine spool up much quicker, as is has very little load to work against with the blades already turning at 85% rotor speed by this point. On odd calendar days we start engine number 1 first, and number 2 on even days. This is done to lessen the chance of us wearing out one engine more than the other. B212’s are intensive on maintenance, so each machine is dispatched with an engineer to oversee the maintenance. I started freelancing before i knew what it meant and across all platforms I’ve made over $200k All i do is listen to the good people on the internet and build my way through the pains, I’m gradually finding it comfortable to share my wins too. If you are scared, I was too If you don’t know what you are doing, I still don’t know what I’m doing as well If you don’t know where to start, I started on facebook (you can start from anywhere) If you don’t know what to start with, I started with a dead desktop computer I revived in the office where i did my SIWES If you think you need helper, well, i didn’t have one, i even sponsored myself through school with the money i made from doing casual work at Dangote salt company NASCON Maybe your current situation is worse than mine was, but i’m a living testimony that you can start from where you’re with what you have and you will still turn out fine.
