YES! I do this in my app using --remote and app server. CLI is better for flow since it's not shifting content around the screen constantly.

well, i'm obviously biased toward so i prefer the TUI over Chat interface, and i also believe many software and system engineers also gravitate toward TUIs as well, that being said younger folks and more casual users seem to like Chat interface over TUI.

what's the point? there's a reason the ide became far more popular than cli. maybe try to keep it that way. there are far better things to be doing. like enhancing the surface everybody already prefers.

Absolutely, however if we could do splits with chat panes it would be even better. Not being able to do several panes with chat is the reason im still using TUI. (Multiple windows isnt the solution)

Definitely yes. Since CLI has way better observability/auditability than the app.

The models are really good when you tell them to use the official GitHub cli “gh” , “gh pr” you can also restrict it to a certain repo . It’s very cool

Wait what is the points to use the CLI nowadays, genuine question... Adding an CLI TUI inside an App made for User that mostly not using CLI TUI is definitely STUPID

Issue with Codex App is it locks me to 1 provider. I was begrudgingly accepting this before Fable & Kimi came out, but now I really don't want to be locked to 1 provider. Made my own tool that's very similar to what you're showing but for all Agent Clis. And added the ability to switch between CLI & Chat view with 1 click.

Nah, the GUI is the best UI… and this is coming from someone who loves the CLI and TUIs… 😅 But having a solid terminal inside the GUI is awesome!

this would probably smooth out some issues with WSL, which honestly does not feel great on the desktop app.
