browsers without addon support in 2025 are DOI because of the shitfest that is the internet and the need for ublock

Graphics acel issue maybe from ff? Looks like a weird rendering issue. Did you test on both Wayland and X11?

FWIW my Firefox does not behave that way with 9730 tabs open (71 loaded) and OOM scenarios. There must be something about your setup.

Valid crashout

Same thing happens to me if you seek around in the Twitch player too many times in rapid succession in a VOD. The whole browser locks up or refuses to load pages, until you hard close it and restart Firefox. Some deep-rooted bug me thinks.

tested the exact page. Works just fine in firefox 140.4.0esr on Xorg. Do you use native wayland support in Firefox? on another computer were I tried working with wayland I had lots of Bugs, some went away with using firefox with Xwayland. (but on my main pc I'll just stick with X altogether, lol)

Recompiling Firefox worked for me. Not sure how easy it is on arch though. I guess this is what we get for running bleeding edge browsers.

vaxry's profile picture
vaxry1 year ago

this has been a thing for a long while, I doubt its because of some bleeding edge

I don't know man seems like an issue with that custom UI thingy you are using. You should talk to the guy who created that because surely a browser like Firefox is not the problem here.

The functions on this site return in an error. Cross-Origin site fetches and co. The code beside the website is not working not Firefox problem for shit code.

Most normal Firefox moment if I've ever seen one. The browser was bricking itself when I installed any extensions for a full year, then it randomly started working.
