Im a red head with blue eyes. I grew up in the American south west. A few times growing up as a kid I tried to not wear sunscreen like my friends and one day after hours swimming at the river I got so badly sun burned my skin blistered and peeled off. I still remember shivering in pain from second degree burns. I now have had multiple skin cancers removed. But yeah whatever you say bro.

Plants quite literally photosynthesize. We are reliant on the sun, yes. But our relationship to the sun is different to plants lol

Profilbild von Case Bradford
Case Bradfordvor 6 Tagen

Without it, we both perish With it, we flourish Similar enough

Profilbild von Jimmy
Jimmyvor 6 Tagen

We also share 70% of our DNA with sea sponges, similar enough can mean very little. That being said I do agree the sun is important for us

@Casebradford I recently lost a basil plant to skin cancer and all of this is so triggering.

Developing a sun callus is great. Stating slow, completely uncover for some time and then cover so rhe skin can learn to absorb sunlight gradually. It’s like a muscle, you won’t be able to deadlift 500 on day 3 And never wear sunglasses! I only wear them sometimes on snow or in water.

I never wear sun glasses, sun screen. Anything you do to block the sun kills you. They have brainwashed the public for so many years. I am 70 and do not wear glasses. I have blue eyes. Do not believe their bullshit.

So many moronic things said in such a short time. But when he implied depression is not a sickness and is due to lack of sun... Whoever takes this seriously should simply not be allowed to vote. PERDIOD.

My relationship with the sun is that it burns me almost instantly I don’t wear sunscreen either I think there are certain skin types that shouldn’t turn themselves bright red and peel to “absorb the sun”

Doesn't hold up. Cumulative UV exposure and severe sunburns consistently drive up the risk of both basal and squamous cell carcinomas. Pooled analysis of several observational studies. PMID 32320481

I had a professor in college whose face was bright red and peeling. He had to explain he's going through cancer treatment for skin cancer because he never wore sunscreen

Profilbild von Xenek Stoehr

@ThorTorrens In Australia, we are easily damaged by too much sun. It’s long clothes or sunscreen. Tap UV. Essentially, it’s ’no sun’ between 10 AM and 2 PM.

Lived in Hawaii over 20 years now, quit using sunscreen about 15 years ago and never looked back. Yes, it’s possible to still get burned but not once you learn how to manage it.

I never use it and spend time in sun all the time. I can sense the exact moment i need to get out of the sun. Its like a subtle flash of heat across my body. My guess is sunscreen prevents that and then you get too much bad radiation

Sir, you live in Malibu, where there is a constant layer of smog between you and the sun. Try that shit in Florida, and you'll look like a villain in a John Wayne movie.

Profilbild von Sah

This is the truth bro I am in the sun 8+ hours a day and people still think I’m way younger than my age. I just don’t wear sunglasses and build the “calluses” in my skin for it. Also, I stare directly at the sun 2-5 minutes a day. Somehow not blind 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣
