I am having such a blast making a Factorio styled game with Claude Fable 5! Making sprites is so much better, and the designs are detailed and I would consider this to be a turning point in Ai game dev, you can really make a game now with AI....

This weekend I explored making another game prototype. I grew up playing simulation games like Game Dev Studio and Dungeon Village, so I thought it would be fun to make an MMO dev studio game, where you are the developer building a fledgling MMO for players to play in. I got it to a point where you have. tech tree where you can earn XP and unlock some buildings, NPCs and mobs, enough for me to test the core game loop, but somehow I still feel like it's missing something. I might revisit this in the future, but it was fun being able to explore making a game in a genre I haven't really tried before.

Last year I spent a week trying to make a browser game with Claude 3.7 and got nowhere. This week I downloaded a sprite pack and told Fable to make "a fun and engaging browser game" with it. It built the below in a single prompt. I miss Fable already 😭

Claude Fable 5 is insane again. I just finished building the lobby map for my game, set inside a satellite military base on the Moon. Players can control their fighter jet, fly around the base, talk to NPCs, and receive missions before jumping into combat... And yeah, I still haven’t touched a single line of code. Everything was generated by AI. I just described what I wanted. This thing started as a simple game idea… Now it’s slowly turning into a full game. 🫠

Thousands of people rooting for me and me constantly letting them down. Masking my tournament failures with success in the content is just that, a mask. Passion fuels everything I do with this game. I built a complete Souls-like game level, a boss and a player character in 72 hours. Disclaimer before anyone asks: no "one-shot" BS here. Nobody typed "Claude, make me a Souls game" and walked away. This is what AI is worth in the hands of someone who already knows 3D & GameDev. Every asset was generated with AI, then assembled, textured, lit and integrated by hand in Unreal Engine 5, on top of a Souls template wired up with Claude Code and UE MCP. This location is better than I imagined I can do! Full breakdown:

I don’t want to do this but here we are. I posted a wireframe design Claude did after I gave it just a prompt. But you brought down to suit your narrative asking “if I was a designer”. For something I didn’t design o. Ai gave me the design In 3 mins. I went to your bio and saw this. Guy judge for yourself. I don’t have much to say to you. But what I have to say is that, before you talk down on ai designs, make sure you are good. Your website is too basic, too much spacing, bad content writing. Get it done better. Before you condemn people’s work, make sure you are good.

At some point I considered making a molecular constructor as a little sandbox game. I enjoyed putting together particles with different properties, to form stable objects. But it made sense as a VR game, and I didn't have a VR set to test it, so didn't push this proto further.
