A "doctor" suggested #jessejackson be aborted, but his mother decided to have him anyway. The irony of that. Would aborting him have lessened #civilrights? How many influential people snuffed out.

On Friday we honored the life and witness of Jesse Jackson Sr. a freedom fighter who reminded America that justice is what love looks like in public! He stood in the great prophetic tradition—telling the truth, lifting up the poor, and insisting that every child of God has dignity! His voice carried the cry of the marginalized and the hope of a more compassionate democracy! As we reflect today, may we remember that his legacy is not just in history but in the ongoing struggle for spiritual integrity, moral courage, and a love powerful enough to challenge injustice! We love you forever Rev Jesse Jackson Sr! #TruthJusticeLove

In 1972, Rev. Jesse Jackson looked into the eyes of young children on Sesame Street and affirmed what too many children weren’t hearing anywhere else: “I am somebody.” That wasn’t just a line, it was an affirmation. A declaration of dignity. That truth still matters today and is part of the great legacy that Rev. Jesse Jackson will leave behind. 🎥: Inequality Media

Today we lay to rest a true architect of change. No matter your color, race, creed, religion, or background. It took courage to be Rev Jesse Jackson Sr. And I can only be who I am today because of the risk that he took. He was vocal when it was dangerous. He stood firm when his life and his family’s safety were at risk. You don’t have to agree with everything someone said to respect the courage they showed in saying it. He brought people of all backgrounds together through the Rainbow Coalition to push for empowerment and opportunity. That kind of conviction deserves respect. May he rest in peace. Thank you Rev Jesse Jackson 1941-2026🕊️🙏🏾🕊️

ASHLEY JACKSON • 2025-2-10 "I Am Somebody." My father, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Sr., first spoke these words to uplift and empower. Hearing his poem recited decades after he penned it—on one of the world's biggest stages during the 59th Super Bowl—is a testament to its enduring power and reach. It brought a smile to my face to see such beautiful children embracing its message. As these words continue to echo in new spaces, we have a responsibility to ensure that future generations know both where they come from and what they stand for. They were born from a movement-rooted in dignity, justice, and the fight for belonging in a society that othered marginalized communities.

Michael Jackson wasn't just the King of Pop, he was a beautiful soul the world never fully understood while he was here. Behind the music, the records, and the global tame was a man who gave endlessly, loved deeply, and used his voice to speak on injustice, pain, and humanity. Yet while he lived, the media often chose a different narrative. Instead of honoring his genius and his heart, they picked him apart, mocked him, and pushed stories that shaped public perception in ways that still linger today. It's one of the greatest contradictions of our time, how someone who brought so much light was surrounded by so much darkness in the public eye. In The Crucifixion of Michael Jackson, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan breaks this down with clarity and depth. He speaks to the spirit of our brother Michael, not just the superstar, but the man. A man who stood for truth, who challenged power in his own way, and who carried a level of purity that this world often misunderstands and, at times, attacks. Now, as the world prepares to revisit his life through a new film, we have a responsibility. Not to recycle the same narratives that once tried to tear him down, but to celebrate him properly. To honor the music, yes, but more importantly, to honor the message, the compassion, and the courage he carried. Michael Jackson gave us more than entertainment. He gave us reflection. Songs like They Don't Care About Us weren't just records, they were statements. He wasn't afraid to speak on oppression, suffering, and injustice, even when it came at a cost.

Dear Tupac, Your words sparked movements. Your truth shook the system. Your spirit gave voice to a generation. In a life cut too short, you gave us more than music—you gave us messages that still echo through time. As we remember you on the anniversary of your passing, we still miss that smile. That fire. That energy that lit up every room you walked into. You are appreciated. Rest in power, King. 🕊️🖤

Today I shared a powerful moment…so I had to record it. My young people honouring our war heroes through the legacy of the Māori Battalion. These young people have been raised under my leadership...carrying a purity, a strength, and a deep respect for God, country, and those who went before us. For those watching overseas...today is ANZAC Day here in New Zealand. A sacred day where we remember the men and women who served, fought, and gave their lives in WWI & WWII for our nation. This isn’t just a song...it’s the ANZAC spirit. A legacy of courage, sacrifice, and strength that still lives on in this generation. "Maori Battalion march to victory Maori Battalion staunch and true Maori Battalion march to glory Take the honour of the people with you We will march, march, march to the enemy And we'll fight right to the end For God! For King! And for Country! Au e! Ake, ake, kia kaha e!" Today, that honour was carried forward. Lest we forget.

Happy Birthday to the legendary Rosa Parks, whose quiet courage sparked a revolution. On this day, we honor the woman who, with one simple act of defiance, changed the course of history. Her bravery on that bus in Montgomery ignited a movement that still inspires generations. Rosa's legacy reminds us that the fight for justice is never over, and that one person can truly make a difference. Thank you for your strength, your heart, and your unwavering commitment to equality. You will always be remembered, and your spirit continues to guide us.

Hello, friends. I’m sitting here quite moved as I watch the memorial service for my friend, Rev. Jesse Jackson. Years ago, on his Rainbow Coalition broadcast, his daughter Santita was interviewing me about my album We Are Family, where I had the joy of singing R&B classics alongside some of the greats. Jesse called in unexpectedly and said something I never forgot. He told his listeners in Chicago that he believed I helped bridge divides in the 1950s by honoring Black artists and their music, and by welcoming them as fellow performers and friends. I treasured that more than he ever knew. Today I honor him as a modern day apostle, motivated by the Holy Spirit, who lifted up generations with a simple, powerful truth: “I am somebody.” Rest in peace, my brother Jesse Jackson.

September 11th was a day that united a nation. Americans joined together to fight a common enemy. The day brought injury and death to American citizens, and we sent our finest to the farthest parts of the earth in the pursuit of justice. Today we remember the loss of life that occurred on 9/11. We remember the men and women who perished during the most senseless and violent attacks on US soil. We also remember the lives lost as a result of that day. We remember the EMS personnel who succumbed to their injuries days, weeks and years later sustained during that day. We remember the service members and intelligence officers who died in the wars that followed the attack. We remember the civilians who deployed and died in the support of the wars. We remember the service members who took their lives as a result of the experience of war. Today we want to not only remember and honor those who died on 9/11, but everyone who fought and died as a result of that fateful day. We as a nation will never forget.

🚨 Jesse Jackson’s OWN SON just EXPOSED the disrespect at his father’s memorial. After sitting through hours of speeches from Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, and Joe Biden, Jesse Jackson Jr. didn't hold back: “I listened for several hours to three United States presidents who do not know Jesse Jackson.” He made it crystal clear—his father kept a tense relationship with the political establishment precisely because he refused to bow to either party. Rev. Jackson fought for the poor, the forgotten, and the dispossessed—not for Democrats, not for Republicans, but for justice. Yet these presidents turned a sacred memorial into a political platform, pushing agendas instead of honoring the man. When a son has to publicly call out that the speakers didn't even know his father... that's not just tone-deaf. It's disgraceful. A funeral isn't your campaign rally. A legacy isn't your talking points. Rest in power, Rev. Jackson. Your son spoke the truth they didn't want heard. ✊🏾 #JesseJackson #MemorialDisrespect #PoliticalHijack 🤦‍♂️

Today, the words of Jesse Jackson remind us that multilateral institutions do not stand apart from history, they help shape it.

After days on top of that bridge, Guido Reichstadter is finally down and free after being jailed for his act of protest. No food. No water. Wind. Rain. Arrest. And still, his message was simple: “We have the power. We just have to have the courage to use it.” Guido climbed that bridge to demand an end to war and to remind all of us that ordinary people still have the power to resist violence and empire through courage and nonviolent action.

It was a genuine honor for me to be able to speak a few months ago to our elder, our senior, our role model, Khaled Nabhan, who was brutally and unnecessarily murdered by the Apartheid Regime of Israel today. I was able to tell him that he has impacted tens of millions of people around the world, and that I myself have given shahada to people who told me they embraced Islam because of his video and the dignity and faith that he exuded. His response was, 'Alhamdulillah who has used me to service His Deen.' Today, Allah reunited his soul with the 'soul of his soul', his granddaughter. May Allah deal with his murderers in this world before the next, and may we see the end of the Apartheid and genocide regime swiftly! PS. If you seem me flustered and overcome with emotion in the video, it's because I was: it was overwhelming to hear him and speak to him - alhamdulillah we were able to broadcast him live at the conference and I'm trying to get that video as well.
