I am worried that decision makers in the education system are using race politics to create a false sense of progress, and keep us from asking difficult questions about the declining academic performance of children.

For more on why I'm concerned for Ontario students:

Hi Jamil The @ugdsb is openly hostile to white students. They hosted a black student-only dance on Dec 8. They openly state "any system built by white people is inherently racist because it was built by white people. @onted It's unbelievable that @spaikin ignores this hostility.

Were you in Ontario during the month of May? @fordnation @yelich_ivana refused to allow their PC candidates to meet & attend debates in their communities, preventing the asking of questions or addressing concerns.

@tuesday7595 Actual education is what is getting lost in all this segregation. Just stop talking about race all the time. Why not talk about common goals, like giving each student the basic tools for success everything else should be left outside of the school. Teachers should just teach.

Incredibly well put. Thank you for reminding people that the purpose of education is ... education. Kids need to feel accepted, but they ALSO really need to be able to do math, read, write, learn about the natural world around them, and be set up for a successful adult life.

@MicaSaurius Just one more reason to overhaul the academic bureaucracy. Review the Education Act and force your Trustees and MPPs to make change. Change the Governance model, demand a curriculum review and make it mandatory that all local schools have ELECTED councils to discuss ANY MATTER.

As a teacher, I too am very concerned about this. Human rights are at the forefront of every single discussion and academics are almost an afterthought. I really think we need to do better for our students. And as you say, who will be held accountable for current priorities?

The results in education do not show this. Specifically in the disparate communities the left claims to be helping. For example, Afrocentric School at @tdsb @TDSBDirector refuses to publish EQAO data.

Both of my daughters protested against their school cancellation of Halloween celebrations to promote inclusion and protect diversity. They have had 5 principals since they started there and have changed teachers 3 times this year.
