“I’m just picking spots and reading the defense. If they back up too much I have that shot. If they’re up, I can drive. So just mixing it up and trying to play all three levels. I don’t think analytics is great on guys like Steph Curry shooting 40-footers and he’s making all of them. So people work on their games, and if you trust it and believe in it, why not shoot it?”

Great approach. If the mid range is perfected and defense gives it then it should be as easy or high percentage as a layup.

@ChampIAN_33 maybe learn how analytics work before asking questions in the future Erik. Analytics have never said the mid-range is a bad shot, they say its a bad shot for guys who don't convert them at a high clip. All the leagues best non-Center scorers have a mid-range game.

the man’s favorite player is KD & he’s spent his whole career until now playing with devin booker & later chris paul. the analytics are great but being a true 3-level scorer is better & he’s seen it first hand as much as anybody.

The absolute worst thing about analytics is people mistakenly boiling it down to 'no midrange'. Analytics never had any problem with Kawhi, KD, CP3 etc taking midrange shots cause they're good at it.
