What happened in Question Period yesterday says everything British Columbians need to know about this government. I asked a simple question: after the Cowichan ruling, and after a class-action lawsuit was filed because the province failed to defend private property rights, do homeowners now have to sue their own government just to be protected? The Attorney General could not answer it. Not even close. Instead of explaining why the NDP misled the public by insisting private property was “safe, marketable, and free from qualification” exactly what the lawsuit says the government knew was false, the Attorney General hid behind the same tired talking points. She claimed land titles are “valid,” even though she knows that’s not the issue. The issue is that people cannot renew mortgages, investors are pulling out, and homeowners are in legal limbo because the province refused to argue to protect private property in court. Every party in this case, Richmond, the landowners themselves, and even the judge has said the province never argued that Crown grants extinguish Aboriginal title. I raised that in Question Period, directly from the record. The Attorney General still insisted the government “strongly stood up” for private property rights. That claim simply does not match the court transcripts or the ruling. When confronted with the fact that the class action explicitly alleges “economic and psychological harm” caused by government misconduct, her response was to accuse the Opposition of “fearmongering” and “fundraising.” That’s what this government does when cornered, it attacks the people raising the alarm instead of fixing the problem. And when asked why the province never warned homeowners six years ago when the Cowichan case began, she had no explanation at all. Nothing. The government knew the risks. The government said nothing. Now homeowners are absorbing the fallout. This is what governing under the NDP has become: they ignore you, mislead you, and then claim you’re the problem when you ask why. I asked the Premier and the Attorney General a straightforward question: why did they tell British Columbians, on August 11, again on October 29, and again inside the Legislature, that they were filing a stay of the Cowichan ruling, when the truth is that nothing has been filed at all? Four months have passed since that ruling came down, and there is still no stay application before the court. Not a single document. Not a single motion. Nothing. And yet the government keeps insisting they’re “working on it.” When I confronted the Attorney General with this in Question Period, she gave the same scripted line: they’re “hard at work,” they’re “meeting with landowners,” and they “announced” that a stay was coming. But announcing something isn’t the same as doing it. Homeowners don’t need an announcement. They need action. And the court registry shows that action is exactly what this government has refused to take. She even tried to argue there’s “no deadline” for filing a stay, as if that excuses months of inaction while mortgages are being denied, investments are collapsing, and Richmond residents are left in legal limbo. The government had six years to engage with the people whose land was on the line. They did nothing. They had four months since the ruling. They’ve still done nothing. They were warned again and again that the consequences would be severe. They still did nothing. And when I pressed them on why they didn’t involve homeowners six years ago, when the case first appeared, they had no answer. Because there is no answer. They chased him off the property. Even if the teen had a gun, and even if that gun fell during the chase, the bigger question is whether he had reason to fear for his own life once grown men were pursuing him away from the store. From his perspective, he may not have known what they intended to do. He could have believed they were chasing him to beat him, hold him, or even kidnap him. In that situation, it is fair to ask whether he also had a right to defend himself. The focus should not only be on whether he had a gun. The focus should also be on why he was chased off the property in the first place and whether the people chasing him created the danger that led to the shooting.

Yesterday, Aaron Gunn said something a lot of Canadians are thinking but too many politicians are afraid to say out loud. Your deputy is a threat to himself and others. All this officer cares about is trying to get the person in cuffs. Zero discovery, zero investigation, straight to litigation with this guy. This is the type of officer that you see on the news for discharging his firearm when he should not have. In this case, the man holding the camera cannot be trespassed from the property because he has lessors rights. If he is leasing property there he has the rights to be there. If the property manager wants him gone they need to not renew his lease at this point. That deputy can go kick rocks.

I think the presenter is on to something big, but where I disagree with her is that she accuses African leaders and gives a subtle pass to African citizens. It is not true that African citizens were oblivious to what Trump or Epstein are. They knew, but they simply did not have the ability to think critically that when Trump talks about LGBT issues, it is not necessarily that he does not support them, but that he understood there is a group of foolish people out there who would buy into that rhetoric without interrogating why he was deploying it. Some of Trump’s best friends, like Peter Mandelson, are gay, yet some Africans were foolish enough to believe that Trump is anti-gay. He simply understood how human beings operate, that there are times when people fail to think, a tragic failure to think, and they just go with the flow. If you ask Africans today what they gained from the perceived homophobia that Trump projected, which we know was political theatre targeted at a particular audience, they will not be able to tell you. Trump might be many things to many people. I do not like him and everybody knows that, but the one thing I respect him for is that he understands his audience. He knows what to say when he is talking to foolish people. He knows what to say when he is talking to idiotic people. He knows what to say when he is talking to sycophants. He knows what to say when he is talking to people who do not understand the world of politics, and he gets away with it. And for that, I give it to him. He becomes a political superstar precisely because you then have black people in Africa supporting him. That in itself shows you the scale of political illiteracy that exists, where people rally behind rhetoric crafted to manipulate them, not to advance their interests.

David Eby tried to dismiss Pierre Poilievre’s visit to Richmond as just a YouTube clip. That’s the kind of arrogance British Columbians have come to expect from this NDP government. Pierre was in Richmond announcing a real plan to protect private property rights and that’s something homeowners are deeply concerned about. Instead of listening, the NDP mocks British Columbians and calls their concerns “fear-mongering” simply because Conservatives are standing up with solutions. Private property rights are fundamental. They must be protected at the highest level. It’s time this provincial government started governing for all British Columbians.

He scared to do the dna test for real bc he knows the truth gonna come out and say that jr is not his!
