His name is Jordan Cowan and he is awesome! He’s a former competitive ice dancer who trained himself to be able to safely follow skaters without knowing the choreo. He also designed and built that camera rig himself!!!

Can we respect that he’s carrying a multi-thousand dollar camera while skating and not watching where he’s skating since he needs to know where the skater is?

I definitely noticed this move when he skated around her as she was spinning. Was so great! It was fun after learning about him to get to appreciate his work while I was watching.

That dude did an amazing job. What she wanted to express was translated perfectly to the viewer. Would love a documentary about the video and photography involved in the Olympics.

Not a fan of watching sports, even the Olympics, but stuff like this I find interesting. He's got to make sure he stays a certain distance away, while at the same time avoiding crashing into the walls while watching her with the camera & not trying to look behind him for walls.

His camera work was SO smooth I barely registered when it switched to the on-ice camera, I really hope he's hired for more competitions on top of the Olympics!!!

Possibly so. But I would think it is also similar to playing music where a practiced musician can play cleanly along with a band or other musicians first time thru on a piece of music relatively second nature due to experience.

They interviewed him last week. He’s done an amazing job capturing some of the angles for us to watch on screen esp some of the gala performances.

You are right it’s like me video tapping a wedding you have to come up with some creative ideas to make the wedding as memorable and tasteful for that one time special moment and then when I done live bands you need a sharp ear to hear
