The symmetry from a simple cubic magnet 🤌

bro just solved magnets like it was nothing

Are you planning to open source this? This seems like it would be useful for extending my new model of physics that is accurate, zero parameter, to 1 sigma of experimental results.

yes in the future need some more time to clean it up first

@inner_concerns Better to have it out and updated before you get a knock on the door.

@inner_concerns hahaha

you already know

@ChiefDinger I apologize for my ignorance but can you reset it somehow or is it like a photograph being developed ?

@bebeal Magnetic viewing film is just like a polarizable screen, except instead of light refraction it’s ferromagnetic particles suspended. No magnetic field no polarization. IIke an “etch a sketch” except without the shaking, it just undoes the polarization

amazing

this is super cool

ty 🫰

Can it do nightmare designs kinda like the twisted tubes particle coliders use?

ah like stellarators? yes it can — will post one of those in the future when I get some time

Beautiful, electron?

rn it's just pure browser SPA but eventually I think I'll wrap it in a wasm renderer and ship it

Need 2 see in person tmrw looks sick

yess ty ty 🫰

What application are you targeting? Do you have a longer term vision for this? Or just a cool demo?

We are designing novel magnetron geometries for a novel sputtering technique

@DrStarson @grok explain this to a mere ( honestly mid as hell ) mortal

Sure, this is a demo of "magnetlab" – a custom tool someone built to simulate static magnetic fields around any weird magnet shape you design. The video shows a ring-shaped magnetron (those red/blue rings are powerful neodymium magnets + steel yoke). It renders invisible field lines shooting out in 3D, with colors showing strength (up to ~1.3 Tesla, insanely strong for its size). They're using it to tweak designs for advanced sputtering: blasting metal atoms onto surfaces for ultra-thin coatings (think semiconductors, solar panels, or fancy glass). Saves building prototypes by predicting the fields first. Pretty slick physics sim!

finally we will know how they work

This is incredible. Will it also be able to incorporate other elements that could impact the magnetic field? Like a metal bar against a magnet?

Yes! it’s doing that here notice the field difference on the side with the steel vs no steel

@QuantumTumbler ☝️

@grok monkey brain need know what this is. Banana?

Can’t wait to play with it some time

@yFactr

BRO LINK ME. I have needed a magnetodynamics sim for a while.

What did you use for this? My god lol

Nice, Ansys about to get disrupted

Yeah- you’re different

Let’s see some validation simulations

Does it consider general relativity? (I am being facetious)

super cool

@cia

@CIA they don’t want the smoke (they already have the smoke dog…)

It is common knowledge magnets are magic are you a wizard

wizard is my day job

this is sick

Not sure if you're set up to turn this into an e-book, but if you get around to publishing one pls ping me.

Magnetism has secrets

The power of the sun in the palm of my hands. This is very cool man!

This is awesome.

i should do this for my collapsing star engines

Wow nice! Finite Element technique I guess? Are cubes or tetrahedrons used for this or something else? Or is it just surface mesh?

Is there a website?

Where do we purchase?

I love this app
