✨ Added a CRT curvature distortion to pieter™ now It takes the Em-DOSBox and processes it in WebGL and builds a new with the distortion of a classic CRT screen which had this convex curvature (like an old TV) even though the screen itself was square I had this working on DOSBox on MacOS and on Linux with CRT-Pi shader, but on web it doesn't support shaders so I had to build my own with Claude Code in JS, very easy I remember trying this a year ago and Claude Code fucked it up so bad that I gave up, so I think the models have improved a lot Tomorrow I'll try add some scanlines, it really helps make the simulation more passable (and nostalgic!) 😊👌

That’s exactly what happened with me. But I also knew that life doesn’t end there. It was a big lesson for me how to deal with disappointment, reset, and start fresh. At one point, I honestly felt like I didn’t want to play this sport anymore because it had taken everything out of me, and I felt I had nothing left. mingyu talking about their tiny desk concert video 🖤 🐶 i wasn't able to sleep until 5am earlier, i wanted to post the tiny desk video on my ig right away and i feel proud [of what we did] and i was really nervous as well. we were in washington dc for around 5 days and we rehearsed for that to prepare and then filmed, and it wasn't really easy. we really had nothing - there was no audio coming out from the mic and it was just my raw voice. we didn't have any in-ears, we weren't singing over a backing track either but with a live band so i was pretty nervous. so i was contemplating if i should do it or not but i kind of just went for it at the end. it was a good experience and i just went for it thinking, "when will we ever get to do this?" seeing us, seventeen, on npr is so fascinating in itself and i felt very proud of what we achieved that's why i liked it.

So, my son-in-law, Dustin, took me shooting and made this video. I brought my trusty .243 that I have not shot in close to 20 years. Some of the targets I hit with it we estimated to be about 400 yards away. This .243 was given to me when I was a boy, and I've killed all but one of my deer with it. Dustin told me he was going to make a video, but I had no idea it would be so professional and entertaining! Thanks, Dustin!

I can’t play guitar to save my life but I can make noises on it. I’d always liked it and in fact it was actually driving through the Italian Alps, again it is one of these scenic detours, and I found this old cassette which had this stuff on it where I’d been playing around with a different groove and that started all to make sense to me at that point. - pg More Than This was released as a single on 30 December 2002. Performance filmed in the Big Room at Real World Studios earlier that same year.

🧸 “how do you feel after getting lasik? is it good?” i’ll tell you guys this! before i got my tonsillectomy, i looked up a lot of vlogs and…a majority of people said that they felt like they were going to die so i was really worried before the surgery but i’m tolerant to pain so it was better than i excepted…my mom always made porridge for me so i ate that well too, ate it for every meal, took my medicines and left the humidifier on so…of course it hurt a bit because i got surgery but it wasn’t that bad 🧸 but after i got my lasik eye surgery, my eyes and nose were running for 6 hours straight and you know how your eyes really hurt when you make eye contact with the sun…like you tear up and your eyes hurt…it was that feeling for 6 hours straight like even if i had my eyes closed, it felt like the sunlight was inside my eyes and i was fighting it for 6 hours straight 🧸 so for the tonsillectomy, i couldn’t eat what i wanted and i couldn’t talk so that discomfort was the thing that was hard…it didn’t hurt but for the lasik eye surgery, my eyes really hurt a lot! the really fascinating thing though is that i was like “mom, this is so hard!!” for 6 hours and then i got tired of it so i fell asleep and when i woke up after 3 hours, i could see the world really well, i was fascinated and was like “mom!! it doesn’t hurt at all anymore and i can see things very well!!”

It’s hard to believe that 3 years ago, none of this was possible. Now, it’s pretty much going to change everything. Last month, Fish Audio reached out to me to try their voice AI software. They just launched their new S1 model today, and I was curious about the state of AI and voice (and everything else), so I gave it a spin. I liked it enough that when I was asked about a partnership, I said yes. I’m free to talk about what I like and don’t like about the software, and I’m going to share with you a few voices I cloned as well as some of the workflow. It was much easier than I thought. To give you an example, here is a private (research only) voice I cloned as a test. I grabbed a clip of Rutger Hauer’s famous speech from Blade Runner and uploaded it to the voice cloner on the Fish Audio Website as a private voice (no one else can use it, as it is for research only). I didn’t think it would work. The audio sample is very short. But Fish Audio was able to clone the voice extremely well and very fast. I didn’t have to upload any more than that to produce these results. I used Grok to write the new dialog, and I added the rain and background effects and the result is pretty impressive. It only took just a few minutes once I had the audio uploaded for everything from cloning to generating multiple takes. I’ll give some tips and pointers on how to get the best results at the conclusion of this thread and show you some surprising things it can do. (con’t) #Promotion
