I built my first native Mac app! It's called Coverage. It connects with whatever you're playing on Spotify and makes effects play on the album cover. This effect is called Sheet. And when I say I, you know of course that I mean Astra and I. I don't know...

@pajamatron Wiring up Spotify's playback notification listeners and AppKit windowing used to be a full weekend sinkhole if you don't write Swift daily. Wild how cleanly Astra handles the macOS event plumbing now.

@pajamatron Did Astra infer native Mac conventions on its own, or did you have to specify interaction and layout rules?

@pajamatron Yeah it just made an app and figured out the apis and permissions I needed. Pretty bonkers

@pajamatron That’s pretty wild, inferring both the APIs and permissions is probably the most interesting part.

@pajamatron This is really cool, but also somehow makes me feel motion sickness. So strange as I'm quite motion sick hardened from many hours in VR.

@pajamatron the album-cover effect is such a cool use of what's playing. way more fun than another static visualizer

@OpenAIDevs @pajamatron Just share the chat so we can read it cover to cover. That’s a feature, right?

@pajamatron asking Codex to capture the demo while you’re on a plane is a wonderfully specific stress test. did the generated video show the Sheet effect clearly, or did it need a human edit?

I really, really, really wanted to drop this song last year. When I first put out the snippet, I was so excited - but it was hard to finish it on time because everything was a blur. I was sick and weak and nauseous and tired and my body just wouldn't do what I wanted it to. Even in the snippet video, I wasn't feeling great. I was just trying my best. I adore Chike's voice and I knew it was him that had to be on the song with me. When I asked him to give me a verse, he was so ready to go, but he was out of town. As soon as he came back, he came over to my studio the next day 🥹. I got a lotta respect for him. He didn't know I was pregnant and suffering 😅 Watching this video back now, I can't even understand where the energy came from. When the song was done, I struggled to mix it. Even so, I decided to master it myself. I hate mastering, so I don't know what I thinking. I was so disappointed that I couldn't meet the deadline. Everyone had fallen in love with the song and was asking me to put it out. I didn't have the energy to make content. I don't even remember them recording this video. Given how much I love this song, I'm a little bummed I couldn't give it energy it deserves. But please, know that a lot of love and resilience went into this song. I hope that you can let less be more for this one. I hope you can give it the energy that I couldn't. That I can't. PS: This is a chance for those of you that say I gave up my career for marriage to fight(?) for my uhm...rights? That or stfu. WHERE YOU DEY > Simi ft Chiké out everywhere now 🩵🩵 produced by Niphkeys mixed/mastered by Simi

Mark: It's been on my mind, and I just felt like I had to get this off my chest. And so I just felt like I had to turn this live on and to really just tell you guys how I felt regarding the T-shirt with the Confederate flag on it. I am aware of the pain that it brought to a lot of people, and especially to my black fans, to the black community. And I know that I should have. I am very responsible for it. But I really wanted to directly tell you guys that it really wasn't my intention, with me knowing the meaning of the flag, the historical significance of it. It really shouldn't have happened, and it really does not reflect who I am as a person. But seeing so many fans being hurt by it, it really hurt me as well. I had no intention knowing the meaning of the flag, and I should have. There are no excuses to that. But I just wanted to promise you guys directly that something like that will never happen again. With me and my whole team, we have made, we have taken steps to make sure that something like that doesn't happen. But I just, and I know that a lot of people have been waiting for me to kind of address this directly. And I've been sitting on this for a while, and I really wanted to get this off my chest. And so I thought today was the right time for me to tell you guys. It really breaks my heart to think that maybe the trust has been broken. But I promise you that I'll make it up to you guys, just with my actions and with my music. I'll make sure to make it up to you guys if you will allow me to have one more chance. I'll try my best in that. And so once again, I truly would like to apologize for the pain that that picture has brought to a lot of people. And I promise to educate myself more on that matter as well. When I first heard about it actually, I read about it. I was shocked, and we and our entire team made sure that it wasn't on any official content, but the picture got leaked, and we instantly uploaded an apology as well. But now I really felt like I had to personally take action for this. And so once again, I'd like to apologize for bringing so much pain to a lot of people. It really doesn't. It had no intention, no personal intention. So yeah. And thank you for taking the time to wait for me to really address this. I know a lot of fans have also been believing in me. But yeah, thank you for waiting till this moment.
