You should see a gas station during jackpot times. The gas station I worked at years ago, one lady spent an hour and a half and almost 1000 dollars worth. Needless to say she didn't win anything.

Its crazy because people are addicted to this way of gambling. Thinking that they'll be the one who will get rich off scratchers. Out of millions of people. Sure you may win $500 once in awhile, but how many dollars have you spent to get there? 1st try? If not then why continue.

It's insane to me the barcode is exposed without requiring scratching it off. The vendor could easily check all the tickets prior to selling them. In Canada that barcode is hidden somewhere on the ticket and must be scratched off to check if it is a winner.

This is nonsense, the shop attendants could have scanned all the cards and already collected the winning cards if there are any and now only left with the useless ones for all we know.. the old school scratch to reveal is the way! But those might be fake replicas too

I always go to the lottery website and see what scratchers have been won big claims what the % is for the next win then I choose that scratcher I won big in $3 & $5 scratchers. You gotta learn the system pay attention when an idiot comes in looses

I used to be a GM for a travel center that sold these. We see the value of the entire roll when we put it in the lock box. Every roll is profitable at between 15-30% margins. Which means, if you buy the entire roll, you still lose 15-30% of your money. It’s all a sham.

This gave me anxiety. I can blow that amount on needless purchases but at least I have something to show for it. I can’t just gamble it away. Maybe a few dollars but not hundreds.

Worked at a gas station in late 90s and figured out the sequence. In Ohio there's a skip within every 10 tickets on the roll (ex 100 tickets roll = 10 winners). Example sequence skip is like 105-003, skipping 004, goes right to 005. Well the 005 would be the winner. Proven.

People think the numbers on the roll of tickets matter. Its only there for fraud prevention and tracking.

I saw this guy come in and dump many hundreds into a slot machine and hit the buttons so fast, then walked out. He won over $7000 that he just needed to slow down and claim his cards...but he was in such a rush, he didn't follow the game instructions. Left with $0. 😐

I see this with the older folks in Miami. Buy a ticket scan the bottom then throw it in the trash. Repeat x10. I was there one day waiting for a friend and watched a lady do this exact same thing. She had to have bought 20, $50 dollar tickets in a matter of 5 minutes.
