I cannot believe it still takes this long for Outlook on Windows to display an email when you select it from a notification. It's INFURIATING!

It's a glorified web app. You are basically loading Edge and depending on what type of connection you are using probably loading your inbox from the web every time.

And it often fails to load icons in. Absolute travesty of a core application for work and personal use that should be a part of the OS. Compare it to apple mail.

Outlook, with every iteration has turned into a slower, more cumbersome, more annoying piece of software that I despise. All we need is quick refresh of email, quick open/close, easy calendar and kaboom.

The entire free Outlook that comes with Win11 is awful. Everything about it. Why is not there a stand alone Calendar for Windows 11??!!! I use the web page for Outlook, the app as you say is total junk.

I used Thunderbird for doing email stuff and I gotta say it only took a few seconds to launch, though it takes a few moments long because I don't used Thunderbird that much. But so far, if I click a notification, it opens the message instantly, at least from past experiences.

Am i the only one that like outlook? It scales well on iPad/Fold, the app is anything BUT this exprience for me on windows. Teams is clunky and notifications are mess but not outlook

I've been using Thunderbird for a long time and it works great.

At least it worked, eventually. No such luck in space. 😆

Hotmail (in the browser) was blazingly fast. Then Microsoft took over. When Microsoft takes something over, it becomes shit. Skype was also great for calls to land lines. Microsoft took over ......

Outlook app doesn't work great on mobile either - Gmail is more reliable. I am thinking of eventually moving my main email account to Gmail eventually. It's a big job, but outlook isn't great anymore.

Honestly the whole notifications panel is a horror show, you don't realize how bad it is until you helping your parents and so much stuff is just horrible experiences for non tech centered users and older folk, and children, it's really is hard to recomend windows to people who don't want to be frustrated with their pc anymore.
