Scottie Scheffler explains why playing too many events in a row can mentally drain players and referred to Tiger Woods always playing a limited schedule: “I think when you look at this sport it's unique in a sense of like the amount of time we spend in front of people throughout a week. Like for me to play four days of tournament golf, from the moment I step out on to the driving range if we're playing at a four hour pace that's over five hours, five and a half hours if you include this part of my day, where we're in front of people. And doing that four days in a row in a mental sport I think can take a toll on you. “I think that's why you see a guy like Tiger can only play so many events because I think mentally the challenge of just being in front of people for that long and being on and what it takes in toward to compete week in week out takes a lot out of you mentally. So for me playing more than three weeks in a row is extraordinarily difficult. I can't handle much more than that. “When you look at the season now I think it, for family time it's great to have an off-season as well, just for us for me to be able to be at home with my family is important. As far as the cadence goes, yeah, I definitely have a cadence that I prefer when it comes to scheduling and there are definitely risks cramming a bunch of tournaments into little windows just because it's hard to play that many tournaments in a row. It's hard to be on for that many times. It's hard to get yelled at that many times in a row throughout a round of golf. It just is. Stop perma full clearing if you want to win games Video below explaining it but i am providing a transcript for anyone that doesnt speak english to translate or maybe that are deaf You are losing games by full clearing now. What I mean by this isn't that full clearing is inherently bad. What I mean is that lot of people get stuck thinking they just have to full clear the problem is once you get your first item, a lot of the time it's actually best to just not full clear. Because when you get your first item and especially when you're ahead, you should be looking to do things actively on the map. Because if you just full clear, you're giving the enemy essentially, breathing space. And if they're behind, they shouldn't have breathing space. If you're just full clearing and they're full clearing, you're giving They equal gold, which you never want to do when you're ahead, because any they get is going to be worth more than any gold you get, because of percentages. so whenever you're strong like this, you want to look for ways you can impact the map instead of full clearing. Especially since, in this scenario here, I can see my entire top side is warded. So even if I do get invaded and lose my camps, I at least know it's getting invaded. and I can account for that and do something else here. So, my bot lane just came out of base, fresh items, so they're also strong. So they're also looking to fight. Here I need to wait for them to push one more way before dragon. So I'm just going to take my red buff, and then we're going to look to do the dragon. And the reason this is so important is because we're both spiking. We just came from base. And the enemy has a very strong dragon fight. They have Lissandra, Rengar, and Ash Seraphine, which means Ash Seraphine should almost always have prio. So, if we don't take Dragon with this one timer, Ash Seraphine will always have prio, and then they have a strong 2v2 with the Slander Vengar. So, we have this one time to take it. If I was just to go full clear, my bot would never have prio ever again. This is our one window, and we're able to take the Dragon where my bot lane has prio. So instead of full clearing, I just go straight to the Dragon. And if there is a fight, I'm strong here because I'm on Item Spike, and so is my bot lane. So it's actually a decent fight. And then I can fast forward. So then Rengar ends up ganking my bot lane. I kill him. And then I'm recalling again because I have a decent buy here of 1500 gold. And it's going to be the same thing essentially here. I'm not just going to full clear. There's no reason to just full clear, right? I'm very strong. I have full item. I just bought 1500 gold worth of items. And top's kind of overextending here. So I'm just going to sprint straight top. And we don't end up killing, but we do get his ult and his flash. That's pretty worth. Could have honestly killed him if I Thresh missed his hook. It's a bit unlucky. But the point is. The point is to just not folklore. and I still get my camps guaranteed, and the most Rengar could take is just my raptors. I know he can't take my top side because I'm top side right. So the most I can lose is my raptors. And it's always worth it to just go for the kill top. If I lose my raptors now, it's earlier in the game, and it's a lot harder to break your full clear because you do get punished more. Because one, it's harder to kill people because have less items, less damage, less cooldown stuff like that. It's harder to farm it takes longer. So more camps, you're more your camps are sitting the longer it's going to take for you to clear them. And then, if you do lose camps early game, it snowballs way harder. So I'd say once you get your upgraded Smite, like your Rainbow Smite, like your first upgraded Smite, that's when it's a little bit easier to skip camps. You basically don't really want to break your full clear aside from that. But once you get your first item, for sure, you want to be skipping camps to look for proactive plays. You don't have to go for plays just to go for plays, but you should be looking for that. So I hope that was pretty helpful. Carrie Fisher said something in an interview that perfectly captures how creative instinct works. She was asked whether reinventing herself as a writer was a conscious decision. Her answer: "I don't think I've made many conscious decisions. I make most of my decisions in my sleep." She didn't sit down one day and declare herself a writer. It was a slow evolution, pulled forward by what she actually loved consuming. "I wrote fiction, which is what I read. And now I write screenplays, which is what I watch." After an interview in Esquire, she was approached to write a non-fiction book. That fell apart. She couldn't even remember the format she was supposed to write in. "Essays or something," she said. "See, you can't even think of the name for it. That's why I couldn't do it." So she did what made sense to her and wrote fiction instead. The screenwriting came the same way. But what most people don't know is that Fisher was doing script work decades before it became widely known. She learned punchup by necessity, not by design. On the set of Star Wars, she and Harrison Ford were handed dialogue that simply could not be spoken aloud. She described telling George Lucas: "You can type this, but you cannot say it. It'll take a couple of minutes for the nava computer to calculate the coordinates." She said it took 20 takes. Out of self-defence, she started reworking lines. Ford did the same. That habit eventually turned into a career doing punchup for major Hollywood films, helping writers fix dialogue that looked good on the page but died in the room. And then there was the work she wrote for her mother, Debbie Reynolds. Two television pilots, neither of which ever aired. Her reason for wanting to work with her mother is one of the more honest things ever said about family dynamics in Hollywood. This video is the one Kim Runner shared with me in July 2024 about how to tell whether you or others are NPCs. I can vividly imagine the stickiness and feel of holding an apple in my hand, the sensation of it denting when I squeeze it hard, its smell, and even its texture. Honestly, I was greatly shocked to learn that some people cannot do this. Below is the transcript of the audio.⬇️ Have you guys seen this experiment where you can not only test if the people around you are NPCs, but if you yourself are? Check this out. And if you don't know what an NPC is, basically, in the video game world, it's someone that's not being controlled by a person, just a random computer-generated thing. And in the real world, same thing, maybe just someone that's not being controlled by a soul. So I heard this experiment on a podcast, and I thought it was kind of crazy until I tried it out myself. And it has to do with apples. And you can probably use any object, but for our purposes, we're going to stick with apples. So there are going to be multiple layers to what I'm going to ask you to imagine. And depending on how far you can imagine it might just depend on if you're an NPC or not. So with this blank screen, I want you to picture a red apple here. Can you picture a red apple? If you can, great. So far, you're not an NPC. Next, I'd like you to think of that red apple, and in your mind—you can close your eyes if you need to—think of that apple as green. Can you change it to a green apple? Can you see a green apple without looking at it? Now stick with me. We're getting to the good parts here. If you can picture a red apple and then a green apple, great, but here's where a lot of people get stuck. And I'm taking away the image here. I want you to picture that green apple in your mind, and can you go in, and can you pick up that apple? Can you manipulate it? Can you move it around? Can you in your mind be holding it, and then all of a sudden it turns from green to purple? Do you have the ability to do that? Because for me, I could, no problem. I could hold that, I could throw it, I could take a bite of it, anything I wanted to do with that apple, I could do in my mind. But the shocking part was, as I was listening to this on the podcast, one person, they were stuck. They couldn't do anything but change colors. They couldn't grab it, they couldn't manipulate it. It was stuck there. One person couldn't even change colors of the apple. But I didn't believe this until I tried it on my wife. And my wife, she could change the color—she could go green and red—but she didn't have the ability to manipulate that apple. She couldn't grab that apple, she couldn't throw that apple. I'm juggling this apple, I'm doing all sorts of things with it, but hers is just a stuck image. And I thought that was nuts. I thought just because I had the ability to manipulate things in my mind and control things, that everybody did, but clearly that's not the case. And this leads me down the path of maybe this is why some people can't grasp the topics or the understanding of not living where we've been told we live our entire lives, because they can't visualize it, they can't think outside the green and red apple. Now, I'm not actually saying my wife is an NPC, but I do think our brains operate differently. I do think some are more right, some are more left, some are right down the middle, and some just don't really choose to think. But try it out, guys, because I found it fascinating, and I would love to hear how you did during this little experiment.
