I can't stop thinking that one day, nothing from that era will be on physical media. What an awful thing that will be. I'm only buying physical media this year. Does anyone else want to join the challenge?

I’m just scared of disc rot. Tried my HD-DVD player and they, due to their notorious bad quality, are all unplayable.

I think a good plan is going to be backing up the disc data on whatever format available. I just hope we can get companies to consider making more physical media of modern stuff.

Nearly 24 hours later, I'm still coming to terms with the fact that one of the last physical connections to my childhood sports fandom will soon no longer exist. The new stadium will be nice, but every memory I will have there will be as an adult. The place where I saw my first game in 1987 and the physical connection to that and the hundreds of other moments I experienced in that building will be gone forever.
