I may be biased but I think cooler's revenge has the best soundtrack changes out of all those dubbed versions of the early films, like goku and cooler fighting to disturbed and the audio muffling once they go underwater is just mwah

Honestly? There is room for both sides to be happy. Because for the main series? Sure, keep it as faithful as possible, this is should be about as close to 1:1 as possible. But the non-canon, outside the source material movies? Fuck it. Do stuff like this. It's so fun.

And i honestly think that’s a pretty fair compromise. In general, I think DBZ has great music no matter what version you watch, but the movies American OSTs give them such specific vibes that the original OSTs just don’t compare for me

DBZ's dub is like lightning in a bottle. Changing Goku to be more serious, the Faulcner OST. Elements wouldn't exsist because they would be deemed a poor adaptation of the source material.
