Margot Robbie is the biggest reason I ultimately ave Wuthering Heights (🌟🌟🌟) a positive rating. My full review is included below & pinned over to my highlights tab, but as I wrote in my review, Robbie is responsible for covering up a number of this film’s flaws. I think the combination of Robbie & fellow Oscar-nominee Jacob Elordi are the reason this is worth watching.

That’s a bullshit rating. My review of Michael (🌟🌟🌟) is pinned to my profile right now & it’s definitely better than a Rotten Score simply because of Jaafar Jackson’s performance. As I state in my review, Michael does a great job focusing on MJ’s music. I recommend this film.

Manhunter (🌟🌟🌟🌟) made my weekend. It’s kinda all I can think about as my week starts & Monday morning takes off. I just don’t get/understand why more movies don’t look this good. Michael Mann, the quiet perfectionist that he is, directed the hell out of this. Mind-blowing.

Tony (🌟🌟🌟🌟) hits theaters nationally this weekend & I found it to be one of 2026’s most endearing films. As I wrote in my four star review of this movie, more biopics should explore just one chapter in a subject’s life, as Tony does, which explores one summer in the life of Anthony Bourdain long before he became Anthony Bourdain. The filmmaking is real as hell, the writing is superb & the acting is excellent. This is a beautiful movie worth seeing.

Nirvana the Band the Show the Movie (🌟🌟🌟🌟) is a standout film released this year & has so much fucking heart, I can’t put it into words. I’m a huge fan of the man who directed this film, Matthew Johnson. I think he’s got a clear creative vision & at the end of the day, he’s flat-out funny. As I wrote in my lengthy review back in April, this film literally improved my mood. This is just another example of how great 2026 has been for Cinema.

2026 is the Year of Olivia Wilde. Fresh off The Invite, Wilde & Cooper Hoffman absolutely crush it in I Want Your Sex (🌟🌟🌟🌟). This film is now available on streaming & I strongly believe you should run to it. As I wrote in my full review below, Hoffman unquestionably has the juice. See this film.

HBO’s Task (🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟) is a limited series I don’t think I’ll ever forget. This show earned 6 Emmy nominations last night but only won a single award - but damn it, that award was earned. Tom Pelphrey won Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series & I nearly stood up off my couch & applauded when he won last night. This show has the juice. This actor has the juice. Glad they both got some recognition last night.

Obsession (🌟🌟🌟🌟) is the 5th best film I’ve seen released in 2026 & it’s now streaming on demand. Inde Navarrette’s performance is Oscar-worthy & the fact this is a horror film shouldn’t hold her performance back from winning awards. I think Curry Baker’s future couldn’t be brighter. See this film if you haven’t, folks, it’s unbelievable.

Amy Adams is good in Apple TV’s new version of Cape Fear (🌟🌟🌟🌟), but I wouldn’t call Adams great, nor would I say it’s a return to the same form that earned her six Oscar nominations in roughly one decade. Cape Fear’s ultimate strength is Javier Bardem. I’m not suggesting Adams is bad in the show…she’s just not her best. I’m still waiting for her to give us another truly great Amy Adams performance.

This entire experience was something I’ll never forget & I’m pissed at myself for not having seen this film sooner. What a weekend.
