I felt this way with Overwatch when they made Overwatch 2 ngl. I loved Widowmaker so much and once Overwatch 2 happened (even before when they did slight changes to her kit) I just couldn't get behind it.

It was unique and fun , it made great clips but it was rarely valuable outside of coordinated premade comp play and difficult to balance . The .01% of aim lords that could force her work don’t justify keeping the character in purgatory.
It actually made me quite emotional watching this. I don’t play rivals but i understand how annoying having a character you’ve poured hours into be completely changed must be and on top of that are claiming you’re to blame? Ignore the haters zazza, the real ones feel for you 🫶

If someone reworked my character I would be upset too but I'm sure that I would grow to love the re-work. Give her a shot. Her re-work is so good and you will dominate with her 100%
They reworked Jeff. Jeff mains was upset. (Myself included) A few seasons later he became a A Rank character. They won’t change her back no matter how much you complain. But give it time and you’ll find out that the rework was needed

i didn’t play as much of widow pre rework as i wanted to but personally she was way more fun than she currently is. i do like some aspects of the rework but also hope they tweak parts of it too
