I couldn't help but address a woman's statement that left me astounded. She doesn't want her husband to have a gun because home invaders shouldn't die just for coming into your home. She essentially claimed that using a gun in self-defense against five attackers breaking into your home is...

My wife was a victim of a home invasion before I met her. She was terrified of firearms. After being together for 10+ years, she asks me if I want another one for my birthday or Christmas.

Firearm training in elementary school, education for purpose, use, and respect is essential. So is economics and money management. Instead, kids are being taught how to be defenseless and confused about who they are.

So many people I have talked to about self defense or preparedness have said that they would “rather just get high and die” if faced with a lethal situation. I don’t understand it and I bet in the last moments of their life they would have a change of opinion, albeit too late!

People understand… criminals don’t care about laws, what makes you think they will care about your feelings?

Getting shot is an occupational hazard of being a felon. Just goes with the job. 🙄

I don’t want my husband to touch me at all. Caller: “My husband is deployed right now and he should be coming home soon.” “I’m so excited that he’s coming home… but I’m also dreading it.” “I just don’t feel any sexual desire for him.” “I’m scared for when he gets home and he’s going to want to be with me… and I just don’t have that feeling.” Dr. John Delony: “Is the whole switch off… or are you just specifically not attracted to him?” Caller: “The whole switch is off.” John: “Are you interested in reigniting sensuality and sexual desire? Is that something you want for yourself?” Caller: “Yeah. I want to want that for myself and for my husband.” Then he asked a question that changed the entire conversation: “Have you ever gone to sit with somebody and walk through your past?” Caller: “No… it was during my teen years. More than once.” John: “Can I just tell you I’m sorry.” And suddenly, this wasn’t really a story about a husband coming home from deployment. It was about a woman whose body may have learned a long time ago that touch wasn’t safe. The hard truth: You can’t shame yourself into wanting intimacy. And you shouldn’t force yourself to have sex just because your husband is home. But if she genuinely wants desire back, the answer may not be “try harder to be attracted to your husband.” It may be learning why her body learned to shut the door in the first place. Sometimes the problem isn’t that you don’t want intimacy. It’s that some part of you is still trying to protect you from it.
