@globeandmail Is this a parody? How are addicts supposed to beat addictions if not with rehab? Yes, I hope it is difficult to qualify, but if someone is overdosing and harming themselves, or breaking the law and harming others, they should be put into rehab. Possibly repeatedly.

@globeandmail Services and support should be there for people when they want it. Come to Vancouver and see what "harm reduction" is doing. Thousands are dying, paramedics are traumatized by record ODs since decriminalization.

@globeandmail Mother of an ex addict here. Detox, treatment and mental health care is the only way. There is no such thing as safe supply or harm reduction. All hard drugs are terrible and users need to get off the drugs before they can start healing.

@globeandmail Without getting into specifics a good friend of mine was extremely passionate about harm reduction 25 years ago. She ended up working with female sex workers in Vancouver's Downtown East Side. More recently she told me, every single woman she's ever worked with is now dead 1/2
