I Debunk the Viral Chiropractor Technique that Scammed My Patient

This technique is so insanely silly that I’ve never even bothered to make a video about it… Until one of my patients recently fell victim to it…

3 years ago he was told to seek a surgical consult for a true case of radiculopathy with severe motor deficits from a compromised nerve root (the muscles in his lower leg were not working at all).

This is an issue that clearly indicates a surgical consult at the very least & is very easy for even the least competent clinician to identify & make the proper referral.

Feeling fearful of surgery, he sought a 2nd opinion from an Upper Cervical Chiropractor. The chiro told him to cancel the surgical consult & start “Upper Cervical Care” with him immediately… That is so negligent that I’d call it malpractice, but it gets worse.

The chiro proceeded to use the clicky pen on the patient’s neck (despite all symptoms being in his low back & leg) multiple times per week… For 3 years.

Fastforward to today & this patient has spent thousands & thousands of dollars only to find himself with the same severe motor deficits in his lower leg from nerve damage that has been mismanaged for 3 years.

Not only has it cost him time & money, but it has likely cost him his health… Waiting 3 years to address a compressed nerve root will likely worsen outcomes compared to early intervention, and he has been significantly less active due to his leg not working.

Needless to say, I explained everything to him & recommended a surgical consult. And now I’m just really angry. Hence this video.
