Raphael Tuju is not a terrorist. He did not deserve to end up in ICU. What happened to him was police brutality, plain and simple. I accompanied him to the police station, stood with him in court, and visited him in hospital because that is what is basic humanity and decency, indeed what the law demands. Those who call that scavenging clearly misunderstand both leadership and the Constitution. But then again, that is not surprising given their records. The Constitution of Kenya 2010 is not negotiable, and neither is the dignity of every Kenyan citizen.

I note Prime Minister Andrew Holness’s remarks in a TV interview this morning. Neither he nor his Party has made those proposals as part of the process of constitutional reform. His proposals are therefore not in the report of the Constitutional Reform Committee, and will not be in the new Constitution coming out of that process. Furthermore, Mr. Holness’s proposals are not in the existing Constitution, and would violate the existing Constitution. This is in keeping with his and his Government’s unfortunate history of past violations of the Constitution of Jamaica. It seems that the Prime Minister wants to make up a rule which is not part of the Constitution or laws of Jamaica, to suit his Party’s political fortune at a time when it is waning. He has no power and no authority to do that. He needs to tell the country why his statutory declarations to the Integrity Commission cannot be certified. I am compliant with the Constitution and laws of Jamaica, and I undertake to the People of Jamaica that I will continue to be so.

He defends his trip to El Salvador after Dana Bash confronts him over Kilmar Abrego Garcia entering the U.S. illegally and police claims from 2019 that Garcia was an MS-13 gang member. 🪶OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS JUST HAPPENED! 🪶 So I am in my house and hear this huge bang! At first I think that the wind has slammed one of my doors shut, then I realize my doors were not actually open. I mean honestly it sounded like a large rock fell on my roof. So I go outside to look around and as soon as I open my backdoor, I see three crows fly off my roof. I'm looking up at the roof to see if I can see any damage (like, was this a chunk of meteor or what?!?), then I look down and see this gorgeous Hawk sprawled out on my patio couch (excuse the state of the cover - my dogs are up and down on it constantly - I need to pressure wash it). I realize that the crows must have been chasing him and the Hawk has flown into my back window there, full tilt. He allows me to gently love on him for almost 10 minutes - he must have been stunned. Eventually I try to pic him up and he flies over to my chair by my fire pit and just sits there (pics below) and lets me pet him some more. At this point I have something in the oven beeping that I need to take out, and as soon as I open my back door, Kali (my Chocolate Lab) comes charging out towards the Hawk and the Hawk takes off and flies away, seemingly no worse for wear. For those of you who have followed me for a while, you will know Hawk is my Totem ( I have a Red-Tailed Hawk Feather tattooed on my arm and I have had numerous awesome and amazing Hawk encounters - gifts of Hawk Medicine that I have documented on here), but this was the most beautiful, profound one yet. What an absolute blessing this encounter was for me (not so great for him/her), but I'd like to think that I nursed this Hawk gently through the worst of it. Best of all I got to share this moment with someone really important to me. Wow. I'm still stunned myself. Thank you Hawk for coming to see me and for your Divine Medicine - I hope you received mine. 💜

who is fooling who? magoola says nup leaders cleared him to run independent, yet bobi wine insists the party never supports independents. both cannot be true. why the double standards, rewarding some independents while punishing others? why bend the party constitution for a few? and if walukaga’s disqualification was anticipated, why did the emc give him the flag in the first place? what message does that send to independents who were unfairly suspended? the inconsistencies are glaring. before you rush to endorse magoola, do you think he will step down for walukaga in 2030?
