I did some walking and talking today with Bristol Central’s new MP, Carla Denyer. We spoke about what she will focus on both in Westminster and in Bristol, why she got into politics, and how the Green Party will push Keir Starmer’s Labour government to be bolder and braver.

@carla_denyer so eloquent, clear, intentional, thoughtful, humble and natural - and that's after not sleeping for well over 24 hours! @carla_denyer is going to be a superb MP and a total credit to #Bristol

@carla_denyer Congratulations, @carla_denyer. We look forward to working with you and your Green colleagues fighting not just for Bristol's trees, but for all our urban trees. Maybe the first thing would be to get the government to complete implementing:

@carla_denyer @carla_denyer a brilliant start setting the tone of Carla's tenure as MP, explaining what needs to happen and how in our fabulous city and beyond. #bristolcentral is so lucky to have you!

@David_on_a_bike @carla_denyer The Greens deserve as much media attention now as Reforms leader already does

@GreenJennyJones @carla_denyer She can’t stop smiling and I love her joy and her slight apprehension at the scale of work ahead.

@carla_denyer Her rent control policy is shockingly bad: It doesn't work in theory and has an awful track record where it has been tried. Even worse when coupled with crowding out by council bids on housing plots.

@carla_denyer Who's that little boy your with😂😂

@carla_denyer Asking the tough questions!

@bristol247 @carla_denyer

@bristol247 @carla_denyer I’m a Labour supporter, but I like her, she seems like a genuinely good person.
