I didn’t even know there was any Ponderosas left
40 Comments

I wonder how many were purposely destroyed by private equity?

I recently learned that was a thing

I miss this place..

Shoneys, Ryans, Krystal Burger are fading away also.

Damn that sucks

And they were always packed out. Makes no sense, honestly.

I miss The Ground Round. Absolute best chicken tenders, steak fries, free baskets of popcorn and shelled peanuts but had to ask for peanuts. Was the best family restaurant/bar.

Yeah it was such a fun place to go

I worked there for about 3-4 years when I was a teenager. Loved working there.

I liked sweet tomatoes

We have a Ponderosa in my city and we call it Pondergrowsa

Pancho's

They should have included Rax. Major restaurant in 80’s & early 90’s. Over 500 locations at its peak and now 6 locations. My opinion better roast beef than Arby’s.

We have a Ponderosa 30 mins from us in Coldwater, Mi. Haven’t been there in years though, it sucks

Good riddance to corporate-slop restaurant chains.

Old Country Buffet was the greatest.

I want to know how many of these names were driven to the ground to pad the pockets of Venture Capitalists.

I know it’s already been said before but I’ll just go ahead and reiterate again… private equity

It’s simple. Restaurants come on the scene with great food and service. Once established, the corporate knuckleheads start looking for more margin. They reduce that quality of the food. People simply will not tolerate it for long. Cracker Barrel is seeing the same thing.

Always wanted to go but never got a chance.

I loved it as a kid

We still have a Ruby Tuesdays and a Lone Star near us!

I haven’t seen a Quiznos in a while.

The only 1 I know on that list was TGI fridays and Ponderosa

RIP Sweet Tomatoes & Souplantation and all those buffet places, America’s @SaladBarFan’s hardest hit… 😔

Sarah Silverman ruined Souplantation

Losing Soup Plantation is a crime

dang I need to get a fudruckers before they close for good. I used to love that place!

The only Buffet our town has is Golden Corral . And I’ve never been to it.

Geez. I liked hometown buffet and old country buffet over Golden Corral. Also crazy, I didn’t know Lone Star had closed its locations. Wild.

Don Pablo’s had the best sopapilla dessert OMG

Only a few left.

All of these were deserted and destroyed by the helpful hands of DEI customer service and management.

Still have a Boston market haven't been in years

RIP Lone Star

I miss Boston Market. Nothing like a turkey carver sandwich.

I don’t get how TGIF Friday’s went bankrupt. Every time I went there was a 30 minute wait.

We hit Idiocracy too fast. As a result, the timeline changed, so Fuddruckers will never become Buttfuckers. It's not a good thing. We lost a hundered or two hundred year buffer to slow the stupification, but, now, it's here. This is my story.

Kenny Rodgers was way ahead of its time , I feel it would thrive today

i promise you never heard this yet
