What's also interesting is that beyond its digestive aid, papain has been explored for its potential in wound healing, as it helps debride necrotic tissue and accelerate tissue regeneration by breaking down damaged proteins. Research has also suggested that papain may have anti-inflammatory properties, aiding in the treatment of conditions like osteoarthritis. Some studies indicate its role in improving skin health, where it can enhance the absorption of other treatments when applied topically. Also, papain is thought to help with allergies by breaking down allergenic proteins, potentially reducing symptoms when used in combination with other treatments. Despite its broad potential, its effectiveness in clinical settings is still under research, and proper dosing remains an essential consideration to avoid potential allergic reactions in sensitive individuals.

No. These aren’t papaya fruits. They are something else. I don’t know what they are but papaya grow on tall stalks minimum 8’ above ground, they don’t look like this.

I thought this was opium poppies at first. It looks almost identical you can do the same thing with the poppy pods by scoring them and they will excrete the sap that is used to make opioids and heroine.

Knew about the enzyme properties but didn’t know it was used in cosmetics. Learnt it from my sec sch biology teacher. Apparently papaya was the focus of research for her degree project. The fluid she said, could act as tenderizer for meat.
