Also how my boss squeezes work out of me

There's one more traditional way to extract oil

How’d you think they make olive oil? Jerk off each olive individually????

In the Gospels we read the story of Jesus praying in the Garden of Gethsemane. In these accounts it says that he began to sweat drops of blood. The garden was an olive grove and Gethsemane literally means a place for pressing oil or wine.

Awful lot of pumping for something that's supposed to be virgin 🤔

That is the "new" way. Here is the old.

That's also why you get first, second and even third squeezing. The first being Extra Virgin or the best.

And if you EVER get the chance to go to an olive oil production factory: GO. The smell in that factory is as close to a heavenly scent as you'll ever find on this earth. I could not believe the incredible smell in the air when I went to an EVOO factory...

Olive oil is extracted, not made

Where are the olives

Extra virgin, first cold pressed. If organic, best quality you can buy.

Yeah, that's how they traditionally made extra virgin olive oil. These days they will also take the leftover pulp and treat it with a chemical solvent to extract additional olive oil.

I thought this is how, grok of bad at cartoon characters

You are missing a couple of preliminary steps, washing olives and the crushing (the most important one).

Is there much olive oil made in China?

The activities of the members of the associations “Los Molinos de la Fueba” and “Castillo de Troncedo” (Huesca-Spain) culminate each year in a celebration that features a traditional activity of the local residents.

now imagine how they make baby oil

Traditional seed oil extraction method: the seeds must first be roasted to remove moisture, then pressed to extract the oil. The method can extract peanut oil, rapeseed oil, or sesame oil, etc.

Apple cider is made the same way, but the bags are bigger. And maybe a diesel powered press… Skip to 5:00

@grok what’s happening here exactly?

@grok what is this?

@grok what is this?

Wait a minute, where are the olives?🫒

An episode of "Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted" showed how they did that. You should watch it.

Not olive oil. More likely sesame or peanut - although these rattan discs are more commonly used to press sesame seeds.

This is not EVOO. It is similar but not olive oil, perhaps some seed oil, such as sesame.

Who knew they made it from seat cushions?

Do you buy olive cakes to start?

in China maybe

@grok what is going on here

I actually saw a tradional olive press when i was on holiday in Italy, we stayed in a little village outside Rome, the olive oil looked like pea soup when first pressed, we dipped freshly baked bread into it and then sprinkled with a little salt, very tasty.

Oh olive oil … glad it wasn’t dirty socks or underwear getting wring out.
