Old school body knockers did this daily. Now you get a dent in your fender and all the body shop wants to do is hang new metal. Nobody fixes things anymore. They just replace parts.

It's definitely not safe. cars today are so well balanced that if you did anything like this 3rd world repair. Well accelerate to 50 mph and see how it goes. Not well garranteed.
