I’ve lived in Dallas for 10 years and had no idea Sand Branch existed and that they do not have clean water while being a mile away from a Dallas water treatment plant. This is one of the most despicable things I’ve ever seen. The city needs to make this right!

.James Talarico: I have no problem sharing hard truths and disagreeing with the powers that be in my own party. I’m a Democrat because I feel like it’s the best vehicle to unite working people — but if the party is not doing that, I have no problem calling it out. In Texas, we have been suffering for 30 years under one-party rule. One-party rule always leads to extremism and corruption because there’s not a check on that power. We have the opportunity to finally end 30 years of one-party rule in Texas. If we do that, I think it’s gonna improve public policy for all of us.

My dearest brother, oseni rufai, came to visit. Rufai is, without a doubt, one of my favorite people on this planet and one of my best friends. Years ago, during some of my lowest moments, he stood with me in the trenches, speaking life and hope into me when I needed it most—without judgment. To this day, he CONSISTENTLY checks in and celebrates all of my wins. The very few times we’ve ever disagreed or felt a certain way, we’ve been honest with each other, and the issue would disappear, forgotten as quickly as it came. That honesty, mutual respect, and understanding have made our friendship effortless through the years. Just as I wrote in a birthday tribute to him over five years ago, some people used to jokingly refer to me as “Rufai’s mother”—not because of age 👀 but because of the dynamic of our friendship. Little did they know, Rufai has been more like a father to me! 😂😫 He is truly one of one. An eternal friend. ❤️ One day, I will tell the full story.

My father’s a retired Colonel, my brother, sister, and I all graduated from West Point, and in 2006, the three of us were stationed in Baghdad together. We’ve bled for this country. We’ve sacrificed for it. And now, in my early 40s, I’m ready to give my best years back, because the U.S. Senate is not a retirement home. I was the first person in the nation to endorse President Trump, and I’ve stood by him every step of the way.
