If the potable water supply is compromised EG by being contaminated, there will be anarchy within 24 hours. The idea this could be mitigated or avoided by everyone having a few bottles of water and cans of tinned tuna is ludicrous.

most people i know have way more than 3 days of food on hand. hell we buy rice and beans in 20LBS bags. i have at least 3 days of food in my lunch box as snacks, jerky crackers nutrigrain bars granola sticks... 3 days of food isnt much
