I like the thought experiment that AGI/ASI could already exist in latent space of all information and just need to be brought out either by hardware or software. Also have been thinking more about the large societal problems that everyone just puts up with because society is a hivemind on autopilot. Examples like, why is homelessness in wealthy cities still not "solved"? And why is there a car crash at the exact same spot on the freeway near me every single day?

Yep, we better to realize that the thing with maximal agency (and zero intelligence, but maximal potential future intelligence) is actually the Big Bang. Intelligence by itself is a static non-agentic geometrical shape.
