Our best season under Arteta was 2 seasons ago when Partey missed most of it & we lost the league by 2 points. That was our strongest team.

.@HarrySymeou you're one of the few journalists I truly respect, but I expect better from you than this. Arteta is not exempt from criticism, and you're entitled to your opinion ofcourse, but can you just wait and see how they fit in before making any judgement please.

Jorghino, altho still great, legs have gone. cant get away with it in the PL. Partey, altho great, makes silly mistakes and puts the team in danger. Also he's 32 with a terrible injury record. Arsenal offered a new deal, he wanted more than current 200k, not worth it.

Like... genuinely have to ask this: did Thomas Partey have people on his payroll? Like first it was that Charlie Watts guy (I know Partey's agent gave him the exclusive so he's in bed with him) and now this guy talking out his ass. Not a word on Norgaard's passing ability.

Hasty take. Arsenal fanbase are too emotional. Partey is a fantastic player but last season all I saw on the timeline was how he was washed physically. Jorginho hardly got a game. Now we've got Zubimendi and Noorgaad (with superior physical stats to Partey) and you have the fanbase in meltdown.

@arsenalbarclays Last week were we all really comfortable offering a 32 year old fairly injury prone player a reported £250 grand a week? Now we have a slightly younger PL proven captain for about a 3rd of that. It's just decent economics. All cry out for better depth but are scared of change

Our best season under Arteta Thomas partey played 14 games!!!! 14 games!!! Yea he’s a far better midfielder but we need players we can rely on. 300k for 32 year old isn’t something we need to invest in. Id get another DM but this isn’t a panic buy, this is plan B.
