So we’re just ignoring that Niakhate also played the ball - clearly deliberately - after Felipe and it was his ball that hit Longstaff? Definitely not offside regardless of whether you think Felipe’s touch was deliberate (which it was)

An absolute disgrace. Yet still we get the thick masses saying "Newcastle pay refs" we get the worst decisions in this league.

This is a unique offside situation, but the same laws can be applied. There is no way that Felipe is not deliberately playing the ball, therefore Longstaff is actually onside and the goal has to stand. That poor decision could've potentially cost Newcastle 3 points. Dreadful.

Ridiculous to rule that goal out. What they're effectively saying is that if a defender makes a bad job of clearing the ball then it doesn't count. Offside could therefore be decided based on the skill level (or lack of) from the defender. Total farce.

So a defender in a defensive position looking to defend a dangerous goalscoring position wasn't 'deliberately' playing the ball. I have literally never seen a more ridiculous conclusion on a football field.

It’s a dead give away that not one of the Forest players actually puts their hand up immediately. If anyone of them thought it was offside, at least one of them would have put their arm up. Horrendous decision
