She should have full access to her sons data hrs under sixteen. As for social media. Too many parents allow their kids to fake their age. How do the platforms police that??? Parental responsibility is the key to it in my book.

A simple solution: Every social media account holder must provide valid ID allowing the authorities to identify any misuse immediately.

Awful situation this lady is in. Hopefully others can be saved her plight & take control of their children’s SM accounts.

Both parents are very brave... When it comes to digital devices parents may own the phone but not the data.. This has to change.. A young child who does not see risk may not allow access.. A parent should have permission with protective factors when it comes to CSE, CL etc.

I totally sympathize with your situation, and I do believe that tech companies should be held more accountable. However, I also believe as a formal reporter, educator that parents should be held accountable for monitoring what their children view online!
