I don’t know if Kentucky will pull the trigger and fire John Calipari, but the $33 million-plus buyout is not as daunting as it sounds. My college football people know all buyout math is not equal.

If Kentucky gets mad enough they will pull the trigger. If Jimbo Fisher wasn’t safe because of the $77 Million Buyout then there is no way That John Calipari is safe.

The truth is, once coaches get the huge contract extensions with enormous buyouts, there is no longer any incentive to actually try & be good at your job. You can coast & take it easy, and if you lose all your games you then get fired and get paid millions of dollars to not work.

Calipari holds a lifetime contract and is second highest paid coach in college basketball. “Calipari, as I’m told, said, ‘Here’s what it’s going to take to keep me’ and UK said, ‘I don’t think so’.” (KET)

I have no problem with Darian Mensah leaving Tulane for Duke to get paid 8 million but what I do have a problem is with Duke not paying a single dollar to Tulane! Tulane put time and 💰 into the college football ⭐️ when Willie Fritz went to Houston there was a buyout! When Jon Sumrall left for Florida there was a buyout! If Duke didn’t have Darian Mensah, they would have been 2-10 this season! 😂

Japanese temples and shrines are burning. Maybe my take on this will be seen as weak or naive by some native Japanese people, but I strongly believe we all need to stay with the facts and not assume who did it. Not gonna lie, my first reaction was probably the same as many Japanese people. But suspicion is not a solution. Protection is. And if the culprit is confirmed, then sure, go all in on them.

Do boosters and alumni have the appetite to help buyout Hunter and McMahon when all the focus is on NIL and transfer portal for football. Matt Moscona reported on "Locked on LSU" podcast that it would be roughly $10 million to buyout McMahon and his staff. The last tax filing on Hunter's pay at Tulane was $1.435 million for the 2023 calendar year. It's a private school, so don't know how many years Hunter has left on his contract.

This entire segment just makes me sad I don’t know if I’m the one in the minority here, but I feel like there is a big split in people who actually enjoy College Football and people who only enjoy watching the top 10-15 programs…which is fine I guess. To each their own I just don’t know how you can claim to be a College Football fan and talk like this
