I don't know if the relationship between Canada and the U.S. is "over" as Mark Carney says—but the perception that Canadians are smarter than Americans certainly is after the Carney government's latest stunt.

The irony of the Liberal government warning Americans not to put a tax on gasoline and energy isn't lost on me.

I've talked to a number of Americans, they were fine with the billboards and perhaps embarrassed that the US had behaved so badly the billboards were used at all. How are you arriving at your take?

The OLD relationship. People don't listen anymore. Carney said the old relationship, old way of doing things is over. & it is. Trump ended it...it wasn't Canada, it was the USA. NOW there will be a new relationship with no terms. Come on do better.

When was this ever in doubt? Canadians, on average, are a lot smarter than Americans.

He said the *old* relationship is over. That doesn't mean there will be no relationship at all. And what he said was absolutely correct, not a "stunt." Trump's the stunt man in this story and so good at it that he turns long-time allies into enemies in the blink of an eye.
