I saw a café and thought they probably sell water there so I went in and bought it there. When I got out, turns out there was a convenience store right across it. Oh my, what in the world. ❓️ ways to overcome worries that occur from time to time 💙 for me, back then i would do something (to overcome it), but nowadays i would do absolutely nothing and just lie down in the house. (with the mindset of) the mountain is a mountain and the water is water, that's how i freed myself (from those worries) t/n: "the mountain is a mountain and the water is water" is from buddhism, it's about how you are ought not to be confused with the truths in life and only then you'll achieve enlightenment, you need to keep your mind open and see everything just as it is

Ever drink water directly from a creek or lake? This is my son, drinking from a little lake in Jasper, on the Chaba trail in 2014. I do it all the time on my hikes. It's the number one topic I get on YouTube. Everyone tells me it's dangerous. That's because most Canadians have never seen the inside of a water pipe in their community. I usually convert about 90% of the folks who come hiking with me. I've never been sick, but I have had upset stomachs. Mostly because of the high dissolved mineral content.

Our day in Gaza begins at 4 a.m., leaving in the darkness to line up for water, then waiting for hours under the burning sun just to get water that is only suitable for washing because it is always salty. When the water truck arrives, I try to help organize the line and fill containers for others, especially the elderly and children who cannot stand for long. The flood affected me so bad that I was traumatised by the sound of rain for days. I couldn’t go to the office or attend some meetings. Disappointed clients! My son couldn’t also go to school for a whole week, and the time he managed to go, we had to go drop and pick him by walking through the water that wasn’t flowing. The days I was able to go out or it’s important to, I had to follow trailers and trucks just to cross the water. No bike, no bolt or anything to come around. My car was also badly damaged by water because I drove it through the water. In fact, I spent so much that I got angry yesterday when I was asked to pay another money to fix something again that was damaged by water. We had to buy a pumping or draining machine to start draining the water into the coastal road drainage which became a waste of money and effort because the rain was just back to back. My plan is now to just move out of this location, despite having 8months lefts in rent, to a better on, free from flood and stagnant waters.

So yesterday I had Neptune come to my house to replace the water meter as per the City of Ottawa. I went down to the basement to put something in my freezer to find my basement flooded. I have NO IDEA how long it has been spraying for. All of my things are wrecked. #Ottawa

“bang chan said he was gonna get everyone who needed water water and he came through with that. the employee started coming with what seemed like hundreds of bottles of water, and i feel like bang chan said ‘put it on my card, i don’t care.’” chan is such a reliable person, it never fails to amaze me how much he sincerely cares and looks out for others, taking it upon himself to keep everyone around him safe.

The sting from the cold water only lasted a second as I slowly crouched between a few barnacle-laden rocks and patiently waited for the lone skimmer I had been watching to return. The bird had cut a very familiar pattern through the water, and I was sure it would eventually make its way right back to me. To my surprise, 2 of them returned, and for a few seconds, they performed a perfectly synchronized, choreographed dance just above the surface of the water. The hypothermia from the waist down was well worth it because these birds continued to skim right in front of me for about 25 minutes!!! (Joking about the hypothermia, but I did forget my towel.)

🫂🙏Thanks to the bit of aid that entered Gaza recently, plus the contract which helps us generate water from our source, we were finally able to both distribute water and warm meals today. We distributed clean water to people in the camp and the neighbourhood, and we were able to give everyone in the camp a big bowl of lentils. Even my dad joined in to help. As the prices keep rising and water is almost impossible to get, this feels like some sort of victory. At the same time, we are always painfully aware of the fact that we can't help everyone. There are so many people dying every day, my dear friends. So many people go to bed hungry day after day. Everybody is losing weight and some people are like skeletons. People sometimes collapse in the street as their bodies run out of energy. It is impossible for me to really explain what it is like to live here. I can't find a better description than 'living hell' but even this is not enough to let you know how it feels to be stuck in it. I wish you could smell what death, garbage, open sewers, dust from debris and the smoke from bombs smells like for instance. It is impossible to describe and it's also something we all prefer to pretend not to notice. We never talk about it even though we all know it's there, everywhere and all the time. I wish I could describe all the things we experience every day, as I'm sure you would understand us better. I hope you will never find out what it is like yourselves, my dear friends. May a ceasefire be near for Gaza. My family and I will have a nice warm meal of lentils today, and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for this. It is your generosity that makes it possible for the people in the camp and us to have food, and for people in our neighbourhood to have fresh water again. Most impressive and memorable Songkran 💦 🧸: can you believe that I used to play Songkran in Silom (a well-known street in Bangkok for playing Songkran) for two years? But my dad was there too, I wasn’t there by myself. I was there with my friends from school, and the parents were all behind us. My dad would shoot (water gun) people who’d shoot me. 🦋: dad is protective 🧸: yes! I’ve never had anyone dabbed powder on my face. I don’t allow it to be touched as I’m very protective of my face. I’m mainly focused on spraying the water. This year I’m not sure where I’d be playing or if I’ll play, but let’s wait and see because I might pop up somewhere to play or I might just be sleeping at home. ……………………………………………………………………….. 🦋: on the back of a pickup truck in/around Chiang Mai moat (famous for playing Songkran in Chiang Mai) and got to have ice as well (in the water). Went all out! I used to be a real fan of Songkran, but since I’ve grown up, I’m like…there are very few days of sleep for me, so I feel like on days off I‘ll just sleep. 🎤: spend time with your family 🦋: yes, I tell my mum and dad to stay at home and sleep. ‘Let’s sleep at home. We’re not going anywhere, we’re not gonna get stuck in traffic. We’re going to stay home.’
