If this film was on TNT or TBS on the weekend, I was watching. It’s films like this that made Neill an inseparable part of my childhood. Love live Sam Neill.

The robot Andrew Martin in Bicentennial Man (1999) was played by the legendary Robin Williams. Before his passing, Sam Neill said Williams was "irresistibly, outrageously, irrepressibly, gigantically funny" on set, yet "the saddest person I ever met." In the scenes where Andrew the robot tells jokes to the family, all of Williams' jokes were completely unscripted. Sam Neill and his co-stars' on-screen reactions to those jokes were genuine. Neill recalled that the warmth between their characters reflected their real-life trailer conversations, where Williams seemed "the loneliest man on a lonely planet" and "inconsolably solitary."

His family said his loss had been "sudden and unexpected". The first movie I ever saw Sam Neill in was The Dead Calm, with Nicole Kidman and Billy Zane. He was excellent. I raised my kids watching the Jurassic Park movies. We were Jurassic junkies. 💯 The one thing the last movie, Jurassic World- Dominion, definitely got right, was bringing Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill) and Dr. Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) together romantically and sending them off together. That was a perfect ending.❤️ They definitely had an on screen attraction and tension. That ending made it all the worthwhile. Thank you for the memories. You were a class act and a gentleman. Your career was unvarnished and that is a rarity in Hollywood. RIP Sam. 🥹

Sam Neill has passed away at 78. His passing comes suddenly after he stated in April that he was cancer free after fighting a rare form of blood cancer. I will miss this man deeply. He was an actor filled with heart and filled with joy. We lost a great one today. RIP to a true gentleman.
