I don't think anyone needs to apologize for speaking hypothetically about a sport where we rank the best teams that (a lot of the time) haven't played each other.

The SEC is no longer the dominant conference They never were either. They had two elite programs that others couldn’t compete with Now with NIL the playing field has leveled.

But letting hypothetical game outcomes guide your opinion over on field results for seeding is something you shouldn’t do

It’s just funny how the hypotheticals always end up with the SEC winning

Interesting thing is that hypothetical on south Carolina at the end? They just lost to Illinois.

I report in hypotheticals almost every day for those who are interested.

Agree with you 100%. Just like the AP and Coaches poll the CFP is based on human opinions and interpretations. As long as we base our sport on human bias and a data system built by humans there will always be hypotheticals and debates.

Got to cut down the amount of teams. increase the number of head to head and common opponents.

For the person who advocated for the two biggest conferences to basically leave the rest of D1 behind and pull the ladder up behind them, you do owe the college football world an apology. Idea of a playoff to crown a champion requires it be representative of all FBS.
