This man is a GenX’er and he realized a long time ago that there was going to be no retirement for him. “I sold all the things that I had, cashed in my retirement, and purchased some land out here in Tennessee to live on. And now what I have to do is pay for permission to live on this land, buy permits, and I also have to pay taxes, every year, whatever amount they decide, forever, in this land of the “free”. You can never escape this system they have built for us. There is no end to it. It goes on forever, until you die. This system, where we’re constantly paying a tithe to the government in hopes that they will do the right thing at some point, ever.” "Whatever price they decide" is the icing on the cake. Property Taxes are the biggest scam ever to force people to stay in the Matrix, in my opinion. We are never free. You're only as free as what you can afford. Perpetual property taxes should be abolished. You get taxed once when you buy it, and that should be it!

My thoughts on Norman, OK after this weekend’s game vs Tennessee Beautiful campus. Small stadium (by SEC standards) but they get loud. Very passionate fan base. The absolute nicest people ever. I have been to every SEC stadium, and the people were great. Easy to tailgate. We set up in a spot for about 10 hours and met a ton of amazing people. I drank way too much beer. The drone show at halftime was awesome. The Toby Keith tribute was phenomenal. I got a little choked up. (Danny White get rid of that liberal idiot Garth and switch to Toby. Trust me on this). Vols fans are super rabid and awesome. It’s good to good again after +/-15 years of obscurity (until the last few). I had great seats (13th row, 50 yard line, OU side) but the way the stadium lays out, there aren’t many bad seats. OU’s schedule is brutal, but I will be cheering for them from here on out when they don’t play Tennessee. OU: You belong in the SEC. Your fans are great. Your heritage is rich. Stay awesome, even after you travel to the shit holes of Tuscaloosa, Baton Rouge, Athens, and Gainesville and realize that most SEC fan bases suck.

Fight AND practice highlights of that 49ers-Titans joint session.... 🏈 Brock Purdy was dominant facing a familiar Robert Saleh defense. 13 has been locked in all camp. Especially good in the red zone, where he found Deebo for multiple TDs and again connected with Luke Farrell (growing theme) 🏈Bullying vibe, especially early, from the 49ers defense. Tennessee took exception, hence the fights. A first-play Upton Stout shove and a second-play Dre Greenlaw/Fred Warner TFL on a pitch right set a very physical tone. Then, after Renardo Green leveled Carnell Tate, matters exploded 🏈Two Titans' O-linemen eventually ejected. Skirmish activity extended into back half of practice after 49ers DT Osa Odighizuwa sacked Cam Ward and grabbed his shoulder pad. Tennessee didn't like that 🏈Titans seemed to have some rushing success vs 49ers, though it's very hard to gauge without watching the tape. Ward's accuracy was very inconsistent. Kim Goeun's Grand Prize (Daesang) acceptance speech at the 5th Blue Dragon Series Awards 🏆 "Thank you so, so much. First of all, it's such an honor and a joy to be here and have the chance to see so many of my respected seniors and colleagues whom I only get to meet at events like this. Earlier, while watching the nominees for Best Drama, I felt incredibly proud because two of the nominated works were projects I had the privilege of being part of. That made me think of all the wonderful people I worked with. Now that I think about it, I'll accept this award as recognition for all the hard work that went into You and Everything Else, The Price of Confession, and Yumi's Cells. At this moment, I'm reminded of all the senior actors and actresses who have worked with me. I've been incredibly fortunate to work alongside such amazing seniors. I was able to follow them, learn from them, and grow because of them. Someday, I hope I can become that kind of senior for someone else. Jihyun, Jaewon, thank you so much. Haesoo sunbaenim, thank you. To our directors and writers... And to my family and friends who are probably watching right now, thank you so, so much. I love you. Been ending a lot of my interviews lately by asking filmmakers to name something they did that they’re proud of. I started doing this partly because I noticed I’m really bad at answering that question myself, and think it’s important to take pride in your work. I’ve been getting better at it though, and actually have a very easy time pinpointing something I’m especially proud of in 2023 — getting nominated for the Press Award at the IATSE Local 600 Publicists Awards. It’s hard to put into words how much I LOVE what I do, how grateful I am to be able to do it, and how deeply I appreciate all of the artists who’ve shared their craft and experiences with me during our interviews. Been ending a lot of my interviews lately by asking filmmakers to name something they did that they’re proud of. I started doing this partly because I noticed I’m really bad at answering that question myself, and think it’s important to take pride in your work. I’ve been getting better at it though, and actually have a very easy time pinpointing something I’m especially proud of in 2023 — getting nominated for the Press Award at the IATSE Local 600 Publicists Awards. It’s hard to put into words how much I LOVE what I do, how grateful I am to be able to do it, and how deeply I appreciate all of the artists who’ve shared their craft and experiences with me during our interviews. Bob Corker had a hard time deciding which job he wanted—governor or Senator. He chose the Senate, but the job he liked best was mayor of Chattanooga, and I explain why in Chapter 42 of my new memoir THE EDUCATION OF A SENATOR: FROM JFK TO TRUMP. I had a terrific day in Chattanooga last week talking about my new book with Corker (Senator Bob Corker), my former Senate colleague, at an overflow meeting of 300 Rotarians. I also talked with Local 3 News anchor Greg Glover (I once watched Greg when he was the high-stepping drum major of the UT Pride of the Southland Marching Band) and Alison Lebovitz of The A List. I swung by the WDEF studio, and I also chatted with state Sen. Bo Watson (Bo Watson) for his podcast, Tennessee Today. It was a good opportunity to talk about how much has changed in the Scenic City over the past few decades—from the Volkswagen plant to the Tennessee Aquarium—right at a time Chattanooga is hosting the men's soccer team from Spain for the World Cup.
