almost every pom is behaving like a manchild, except some english journalists. i get it, hatewatching is something which we all do, but to talk about morality and other nonsense is bizarre. their meltdown and elitism is annoying as usual. W paul dennett.

Good to see someone in the cricket space finally chime in that actually knows the law re the wide! The only real issue here is if the Indian players went over the top and personally I don't think so.

You can’t argue with the umpire like that

Thanks for being a sane voice on this. But also add the consequences of India not acting up n accepting the wrong call as is. What is Axar continued to bowl the tight line, batsman reverse hits every ball n misses n umpire wrongly declares wide. Just 4 more time n you lose. At some stage Indian players had to intervene having known the laws better.

If they were protesting in wcup final, it would have made sense. Not against 41st rank side.

i have one submission only somebody, please share a publicly-available-and-official source that clarifies this wide rule. No scribd links, no cricinfo articles, no almanacs that is not officially available, not MCC rulebook. Either the playing conditions or a press release that calls this rule out or something that defines "sufficiently within reach"

What we're/are people expecting? So let the umpire make a stupid decision. Dont say anything. Or its just because India did it

I think also there wasn’t a TV umpire? Makes the on-field call, any call, more important. P.S. I know a wide doesn’t normally go to the TV Umpire in international cricket.

When you bully an umpire to change his mind it is just wrong. Law 42. No more explanation needed. You’re overthinking it.

The umpires decision is final Arguing on the field or dissent on a decision should bot be tolerated.
