I don’t think it out it to rest. I think it’s left for interpretation. Cassian held Jyn knowing he’d never see Bix again, loved her like he loved Bix because Jyn showed him what he was fighting for- LOVE.

The tragedy of Jyn and Cassian is that they never got to explore what they were - maybe they would have been lovers, maybe just friends. They sacrificed all of that potential for the cause. So there is no answer to whether they were a "thing" or not.

As you said, it’s still left for interpretation. I don't like the idea of their relationship being romantic in any way.

I think love is what matters. Whether romantic or not, that’s what The Rebellion thrives on.

What's with all the Jyn/Cassian lately hate anyway? Has this been a common thing in the years since Rogue One released and I just missed it?

I feel it’s definitely been more of an Andor season 2 thing, though I’m relatively new to swtwt so

People can love more than one person. Bixian was never a conventional relationship as both knew the Rebellion had priority and it simply wasn't possible. And Jynian formed at a moment where both knew they were just waiting for death. Love can just be, without definition.

their fates are intertwined, imo they’re soulmates thru the force. i see potential romance as very ‘maybe right person, def wrong time’ & it’s beautiful they found peace in the end together. they died fearlessly thru their bond. bix is so selfless, it’s ALL about love 😭😭

A lot of people need to learn the meaning of the world platonic. Just because they're hugging (as they're about to be engulfed by a deadly fireball, mind you) doesn't mean they love each other. They were giving each other comfort in the face of death. It was always that way.

i think some dialiogue from xenoblade x definitive edition sums it up perfectly: "have you got it in you to love? and im not talking marrige vows here. to love all of creation. to embrace the world and all its parts fully" thats the love the rebellion is based on

I love how they leave the ending up to interpretation and don’t end it on a kiss, just a hug between 2 people who grew close and finished their mission, seeing the sunrise that luthen never will
