Okay, Pierce—just one small correction at the very end. You said Trump’s idea for Gaza represents an ethnic cleansing we haven’t seen in modern times. But actually, we have seen such cases—in the Middle East and Africa. The most recent example is, of course, Assad’s Syria, which ethnically cleansed 5.5 million Sunni refugees and drastically altered the country’s demographics. (Not that it helped him in the end.)

There was no material debate. Neither brought any deep substance where they went down and did source scrutiny with one claim at a time. But Douglas Murray did give everyone the needed wakeup call that Dave Smith really doesn't have any material credibility. And if people want to get material credibility, they should look to people with the work product and good arguments, like:

Dave's emotion-based take was already clear, whereas Eric's take was brilliant & more substantive/insightful yet you shorted him too.

It would’ve been better to have @benshapiro or @charliekirk11 debate because they are used to the gaslighting, cherry picking of facts and utter incoherence of argumentation that Dave does than @DouglasKMurray who has deep experience in conflicts and swims more in the deep end of the pool. I think Murray held his own against the scatterbrained launching of various slanders by smith as an Israel hater who shows minimal knowledge of the region but has absorbed the Jew hating propaganda well.

When someone like Douglas Murray listens more than he speaks, as he did while Dave dominated the conversation, you witness the brilliance of an expert allowing an overconfident novice to expose their own flaws. It was uncomfortable watching this debate. Dave clearly needs to read more and conduct proper research. Rogan asked Murray to stop interrupting Dave, yet Dave repeatedly interrupted Murray without reprimand. That’s when Murray strategically stepped back, letting Dave ramble despite his shaky grasp of the issues. As intellectuals often note, “When someone persists in defending a wrong point, let them talk and simply nod.” Rogan never called out Dave’s interruptions, which were blatant. People sided with Dave because they perceived Murray as arrogant—nothing more. If Murray had reacted emotionally, perhaps tearing up when Dave raised his voice, the audience would have sympathized with him instead. That’s basic human psychology at work. This wasn’t a debate!

Once again @ComicDaveSmith makes an emotional appeal that is not based on reality. No one likes war, Dave. No matter how many quotes you’re able to pull together to make your case. After listing to 5+ hours of your debates, it’s not clear to me what drives your hate of Israel. If you came into this academic challenge free of any bias, what persuaded you to form so much hate for the Jewish state. Your arguments are nothing that we have not heard from Norman Finkelstein, Noam Chomsky, Rashid Khalidi and Elon Pepe. Have you studied the organized movement behind the New Historian revisionism?

He doesn’t consider the impact of Israel not dropping bombs over a given period of time and has the arrogance to assume he’s better placed to dictate morality best.
