Anyone starting a job will need to show the so-called 'Brit-card' to prove they have the right to live and work in the UK. Sir Keir Starmer claims the scheme will help to deter migrants from crossing the channel illegally in small boats. He says it will also offer Britons other benefits, such as accessing public services more quickly. Lorna Shaddick reports.
