I don’t think people know what the line is anymore

Let's be fair guy here; We were never taught what that means nor did anyone explain it when we first went to the metro or anywhere. We learn what that is by word of mouth and not many of us know blind people.

Never knew what it was for till today. Happy to learn something new

I hope it’s more obvious when they are yellow. The Grooved lines are called "Tenji blocks" tactile paving. They are raised surface tiles on subway platforms designed to help blind or visually impaired passengers safely navigate. They were first installed in 1965 to act as a navigation aid (grooves/lines for guidance) and a hazard warning (bumps for stopping) at edge-of-platform locations. Now you know.

Other people exist in the world, it’s your problem if you can’t see that.

it's unrealistic to think that this is going to be kept clear at all times for the 99.4% of people that aren't blind. that being said most people would happily make way for someone that is. maybe carrying a clicker or something would help.

OMG i never knew this! Why no one told me that??

If the dude is blind, how does the manages to turn on the camera and record?

In Mongolia, you'll meet some installations, not just people..

Maybe they should put some signs on the lines so people know what they are for!

honestly most people dont even know what those lines are for. thats not malice thats just ignorance. but now you know, so next time you see em at a station, stay off. takes zero effort

I didn’t know what it was I’m sorry

I've never seen that before. If I ever do see those tiles on the ground, I'll know what it is in the future.

I’m 58 years old and until this very moment, I never knew the line even existed. Thanks for teaching me something new today.

I'm 40 and this is the first time I'm seeing this.

Didn't knew those were made to help visually impaired people navigate better.

Because your mine, i walk the line johnny cash

This guy is gay and annoying. He thinks because he got nerfed that the world should keep his little path clear. Stfu. His ass can see more than he lets on.

People are stupid and self centered. Almost nobody has situational awereness anymore

Roughly 0.3% of the population is blind. That tactile line is to help them more easily move around public spaces, but it is not a dedicated "blind people only" space that others are not allowed to stand on or travel across.

Barely anyone is blind or interacts with blind people on the regular. Of course no one knows wtf that is.

It must be exhausting to be so polite to so many people being so inconsiderate and/or ignorant.

Wait, who edits these videos?

Japan's sidewalks feature yellow Tenji blocks, textured plates aiding visually impaired individuals in navigating by touch rather than sight.

it's thanks to that guy that I learned what these lines are. Never knew before. Also be so kind and include the channel from where you "borrowed" the clip

To be fair, I'd never associate these things with accessibility features. They look like expansion joint covers or some such. This would have been easily solved by embossing "keep clear for blind people" into the grooves.

We learn everyday

Is this a thing in the US? I don't think I've ever seen one of these. If I have, I thought nothing of it and was never taught about it.

Every blind person needs a shirt like this

If he's blind, then what are the glasses for?

We learn everyday 😔

What do you mean anymore? I didn’t know what it was for the first place. But now that I do, I’ll be sure to steer clear.

I thought they were put there on purpose to interfere with people rolling luggage.

What is a blind man doing with a camera?

They don't give a shit. Byproduct of not receiving a proper education by their parents. They are dumb as shit.
