I don’t think people realize just how over Sid was in 1996. WHO’S THE MAN?!

Sid is super underrated. Dude just had it. Great look, intimidating, could work a big guy style. Ok, promos may be a lil hit or miss, sure, but he had it for sure.

I always say, it may get lost to time. People think he was just marbled mouthed with his promos. But in reality? He was one of those guys where it didn’t really matter WHAT he said. It was how he said it. In the same vein as Steiner. Just a good promo no matter what.

He was over as fuck that day but primarily because NYC and fans being absolutely tired of Shawn as WWF champ. They had a match with Sid as a heel and they booed HBK out of the building anyway. By next month versus Bret or January versus Shawn, he was pretty much back to normal.

That was one of the greatest nights in history ending that awful Michael’s title reign! One of the loudest arena’s ever for SID

Music was on point. His look was just fantastic, and his style in the ring was perfect for his gimmick. Absolutely iconic.
