Yutaka Take obviously isn’t at the level he was in his prime anymore, but I sometimes see people online criticizing the technical side of his riding style, and I get the feeling a lot of them probably don’t watch much American racing. There are many different riding styles. Take’s way of riding is clearly different even within Europe, but once you start looking at racing in other parts of the world, you can really see how technically skilled he is. There are top European jockeys with somewhat similar styles too. Cristian Demuro is interesting in that respect. When he rides in Japan, he sometimes looks more American in style than he does when riding in Europe, almost like his brother. If you know what you’re looking at, I think the differences are fairly easy to understand. Every style has its advantages and disadvantages. If you understand what Take is doing, I don’t think you can really criticize his riding posture itself. It’s quite a deep subject, though, so I can understand why some people don’t really get his style.

The tariffs are genius and explained here. I don’t understand why people are up in arms about President Trump’s tariffs. These are RECIPROCAL tariffs. These countries have already been imposing their tariffs on us for decades. We finally have a President who is saying “hey bud, if you are going to charge us, we are going to charge you the same in return. How is that a bad thing? The bad part is we have had these weak Presidents in the past that never did anything about it.

One of the things I want to explore next year across Africa is Real Estate. I want to look at what your money can buy, and also to answer the critical question of why houses are more expensive in certain countries than others. They are more expensive in Zimbabwe, Angola and Kenya, than they are in South Africa and Rwanda. This is what you can buy for US$80,000 in Kigali, Rwanda. Africans with money turn to buy outside the continent yet we can build the continent by investing our money in each other’s countries. I will look at why this is not happening and how we can make this possible without painful and chaotic bureaucracy of rules and banking regulations.

I don’t cry easily. But I couldn’t hold it in watching Elian and Almas talk about their time in ISIS captivity. I lived through it. I met so many survivors—some were family, some were close friends. And still, every time I hear one of their stories, it hits me like it’s happening all over again. 250 Assyrian Christians were kidnapped by ISIS. No one came to help. No cities were flattened for us. Our stories didn’t make it to the news. I still don’t understand how some get the world’s full support… and the rest of us are just numbers, forgotten in the Middle East. And the most infuriating part? The man who helped create ISIS in Syria—who later split off and gave birth to HTS—is still in power. He’s being normalized by the world, while our pain—and the pain of every minority in Syria—is treated like it never mattered.
