I don’t usually talk publicly about being a hearing-aid user. However, when both I & the public were unable to hear in the Council Chamber I had to speak up. Incredibly disappointed with the Labour Chair’s response. No one should be excluded from debate because of hearing loss👇

This is just poor behaviour. As a fellow hearing aid user I can sympathise!

@John_J_C_Moss Awful. I am profoundly deaf and a councillor. I access in council via sub titles. @wandbc have really improved accessibility and your council should too

Discrimination. Simples.

That is so wrong. You shouldn’t be dismissed like that.

You asked for a reasonable adjustment, gave him information that you had a disability and he ought to have taken into account the equality act. It’s the most obvious discrimination

That’s a disgusting response and discrimination at it’s best 😡 I too am a hearing aid user so I know exactly what it’s like. He needs calling out
